Deaths’s quick visit (a true and personal story)

My lips were parched.

My eyes were sunken in,

they were hiding from my pale deserted face.

Each breath was a painful sacrifice

that my lungs no longer wants  to participate in.

My heartbeats were sprinting so hard and fast.

The nurses were testing my fingers for oxygen.

but they were so cold and stiff,  none of them wanted to communicate

Awoken by a miracle and heard the  nurse said

'' is she  dead?"

Slowly making my way to consciousness,

I looked at death and said

"I see you come to visit me, but I  won't let you in. "

Dreaming

Police!

Freeze!

Drop the weapon!

Hands above your head!

Confused and  scared by how those  harsh words presented themselves

my knees bent inwards, I was choking on my words,

concentrated urea solution was dripping down my thighs

I tried to explain,

"There is no weapon, only a cell phone,"

"Not every black person is strapped or harm!"

He looked at me, he saw my skin

he already convinced himself  that he saw evil,

I was kissed by a bullet straight through my chest

my blood splattered,

wasted on the ground

I screamed my last words as I came to death,

They turned the lights on.

My friends looked at me.

Thankfully, this was all in a  dream,

except the part of me being BLACK.

Mr. Fear

Sweaty palms,

cold feet,

eyes bulging,

heart pumping,

knees shaking,

all because there is someone in my head

telling me the worst is yet to come.

He controls my emotions

he is indescribable

some call him Anxiety

but his real name is Mr. Fear.

Crash Courses

I can tell you about our chemistry,

we connected like strong ionic bonds

that absolutely nothing could break us apart

I can tell you about our Physics

that somehow defy Newtons law

because there was no gravity, no friction

just a single force pulling us closer and closer together

and I can tell you about our anatomy

I was sure I was built with your rib

So, who is she?

I guessed you had an extra rib

Oh, wait! I could Bible Studies

pretty sure it wasn't Adam, Eve, and Eva

but you have to do the  math to divide a smile by a tear times fear equals mere truth.

Avoidance

My smile is a simple reflection of my inner peace

and not  your monstrous presence.

My eyes are lit with intelligence,

has nothing to do with your narcissistic plight

My heart is closed tight.

I already deleted your contact from my phone

so leave me the heck alone!!!!!

Glass Bottle

Though my skin  is silky and smooth

and my body has angular curves

that tapers off elegantly preparing him for my insides-

He calls his friends over they laugh so loudly

then he grabbed me forcefully

removing my cap which was a physical and mental barrier

to protect against people who will contaminate my insides

he did not even find out if I had too much sugar

he just ripped off my clothes saying

it's just a label

then he kissed  me on the mouth

sucked onto my lips

lifted me up, then he turned me upside down

Now I am no longer clean,

and nothing is left inside of me

you could see through my soul

he was finally done with me

so he dumped me hard

and now I am broken.

Compare writing to making love. Make it a quickie.

Let’s Do It

Sharp, slender pen stabs  deeply into the page,

ink protrudes from the tip,

together they form sentences.

Silence screams the truth

Her eyes overcrowded with teardrops

ready to burst from their corners

her hands, cold and trembling, as she hugged herself in self-pity

Her feet plastered to the wooden floor

too weak to lift her upper body.

Her ears pricked, but there was no sound

For once, her growling stomach,

the dripping tap, and even the wispy whistling wind

all stopped

knowing how much she hates the silence

because silence screams the truth.

What would it be like, if the whole world spoke only in rhymes?

Lets rhyme

If the whole world spoke only in rhymes,

It would be fun, so much fun at times

People will be forced to say nothing but the truth

and for those who refused, for once they will be mute

Rhyming our words cant be too bad

when Dad rhymes with sad

care rhymes with dear,

and share and fair

black rhymes with rock

and trump rhymes with dump

it would be so much fun if the world just spoke with rhymes

we would dance to poems, playing tunes in our minds.

Preservation

There is only a small part

of your body that he wants

and thats the part you want to preserve

as soon as he gets it

you become nothing.
