Closing my eyes,

I see blackness,

Throwing away its hidden colours,

Creating huge skies,

Of imaginary happiness,

Wanting me to keep them there,

Because I know,

When I open them,

I’m exposed to a line up of lies,

And failed tries,

And unwanted goodbyes,

That ensues only uncalled cries.

Closing my eyes,

I wake up..

To a new life.

A blank one..

For me to fill

And dance.

A rainbow!

Busting a move..

A nightmare?

Or a daydream..

By chance!

when i close my eyes,

you are always there,

your name seared

into the underside of my eyelids

like the hot brand

on a calf's tender skin.

you've rightfully

claimed your property.

i belong to you,

so you can do

whatever you want

to my heart,

like it or not.

I close my eyes,

and I see a book.

My book.

I want to reach out

and touch it,

but it always

stays

just out of

reach.

But even though

I can't touch it

now,

I know

I will

someday.

I see green pastures, flowing as far as the eye can see. Blue skies, woven with steamy white clouds. The sun peaks through the horizon, blinding me with it's dreamy loveliness.

I can't breathe, for fear of it disapearing in a single breath.

I gaze out, unaware of everything else.

The first thing I see when I close my eyes

is almost blinding darkness.

Yet I use almost,

because there be pinprinks of light,

and in seconds,

I see light everywhere.

Blazing or whispering,

blue, red, and white.

they blink in and out.

My existence is surrounded by stars

A single glowing magenta flower stands tall on a stone in the middle of a small lake. Waterfalls surround it, and the sunbeams make droplets seem like daytime stars. Over the water-cliffs golden knights on golden dragons appear, determination in their eyes, before the world turns frozen in cold blue.
