Well it's quite coincidental that poetry is what inspired me to write poems . They are so beautiful, and so well written. Everyday sentences are written better in poetry, they're more extravagant, more bold. I started reading poetry and I related to it perfectly. It was like the author was expressing my feelings for me , so I thought I'd give it a shot. A shot at writing my own poetry, at expressing my own feelings through it.

I remember the first time

Distracted, of course, in class

I wrote down some thoughts and feelings and

It went straight to the trash.

'You're not allowed to feel like that,'

My inner critic said.

'Yes I am.' And just like that,

My inner critic's dead.

Tiger, tiger,

Burning bright,

Bringing inspiration,

In the night,

Tiger, tiger,

Immortal hand or eye,

Could ever imagine,

The spark you've cast,

Tiger, tiger,

Can you frame my fearful poetry?
