Unclench My Hands

Thunder weeps its beauty in arctic waters

pale face sits suspended from reality

endless tears in frosted crystal pain

chilling whispers penetrate my soul.

Sobs of racing ocean storms

snow pounding my core in sleeted hurt

searching numbly for the distant shore

frozen by the breath of the frigid world.

Sun withers in absence of daylight

I am unheard and unseen, exhaled

by grey hordes of iced tomorrows

absent from yesterday's scenic paths.

I beg to climb in dead winter skies

warm my faint heart's weak pulse

unclench my hands and face the future.

Humanity holds my hand, steam arises

flaming icy walls of sorrow with warmth

struggling to reach out of shallow iced basin.

And so it happened - my body frozen in place

while my heart raced like a wild horse

as the thaw began, melting my numb heart.

She comes to me at night...

She cursed me awake, Death's abandoned lover

My blossoming youth outshone her darkly cultivated beauty

Forced aside, she took vengeance, punishing me by and by

On this night, my velvet eyelashes are the object of her envy

Each plucked fresh by sharpened twilight nails

As I thrash and kick, pausing neither to gasp nor scream

Each one a treasure lost as she rips them loose

And plugs them in above her own dark orbs

Her laugh both pitiable and spiteful

Shaking, trembling, my tears mix with the bleeding ends

I hold my breath and wish for the salt to stop stinging

It's nearly done now I think

But then one white sculpted hand pauses just above my eye, considering

Her revenge, so often taken, has found a new shape and I can no longer blink

And so it happened, my body froze in its place, while my heart raced like a wild horse

Heartbreak

That day

I was never the same person again

And so it happened

My body froze in place

While my heart raced like a wild horse

I ran out crying

You broke me and my heart

I will never be the same again

The Cliffhanger

I waited

Patiently

I was set in stone

Fear rushing through me

Palms sweaty

Uncertain of his words

My lips swollen

Bitten from my nerves

"Babe, did you hear me? I said what was so important you needed me to come home?"

He searched me for answers. There I stood, long deep breaths. Here goes nothing.

"I'm pregnant."

And so it happened, my body froze in its place while my heart raced like a wild horse.

Him

I told myself I wouldn't let my feelings for him cloud my judgement. Taking in a deep breath, I knocked on his door. He opened it and my eyes traveled from his beautiful, piercing green eyes, to his muscular, naked torso.

"And I thought you said you didn't like what you see, huh." he said, a cocky grin spreading across his face. I rolled my eyes and scoffed, pushing past him into his apartment.

"Please, don't flatter yourself. I was only wondering why you didn't have a shirt on." I took my jacket off and turned around, bumping into his chest. Before I could fall on my ass, he grabbed my hips and pulled me close, my hands automatically circling around his neck. My hormones were going crazy at this point, and him staring at my lips didn't make it any better.

"Ah fuck it." I gave in and smashed my lips against his. He seemed shocked at first, but then started kissing me back roughly, tugging at my hair. His hands traveled down my body and stopped at my ass, grabbing it. I squeaked a little as he lifted me up, my legs wrapping themselves around his waist.

I broke off the kiss, and he buried his face in my neck as I tried to catch my breath. Realizing what just happened, I pushed him away and jumped off of his body, eyes wide.

And so it happened, my body froze in its place, while my heart raced like a wild horse.

Meeting a Leo

I had seen him everyday at lunch. I walked in and looked his way, so that I could see him smile. I never made a move.

Then, one day he came into my work. This was the opportunity to know him.

I stood up and volunteered to serve him.

We shared similar interests, but also an unusual tension.

I watched his lips as he spoke. He made me hot.

I asked for his number, and I asked to take him home after work.

We drove home, laughing, listening to music.

"Right here." So, I pulled over. I didn't unlock the door,

because I wanted a kiss.

I knew this was new, and

I knew there was a chance of him not feeling the same. But, I didn't care.

I finally gathered the courage that I could feel turning into adrenaline.

And so, it happened, my body froze in its place, while my heart raced like a wild horse.

ends or beginnings

I could see it coming, but was unsure how to stop it. The day was ending and a new one about to begin. That was not the problem, however. The problem was that I knew what the next day would hold, and I didn’t have any way to change things. The anticipation was palpable. The anxiety had my heart beating like a drum line chorus in my chest. And then there were the butterflies in my stomach that had turned into something akin to weebles wobbling back and forth in my stomach. They never fell over, but they sure felt like they were going to cause my liver to beat a hasty retreat through my colon and my stomach to heave itself out of my body. There was no way that I could go through with this. I just could not wrap my mind around it nor could I get my body under control.

The next thing I knew, in the midst of all the chaos in my mind and my body, I was being moved about by what seemed like apparitions, pointing, and murmuring at me to move this way or that, to put on this frock and remove that one until I happened to catch sight of myself in the mirror, only to realize that it was not my mirror. The mirror was in the dressing room at the reception hall. I wondered how I had managed to get to this place, to this moment without ever remembering a thing about the day, when I noticed the ring on my left hand as it rested upon my lacy lingerie. I heard a sigh, and looked up from the ring on my hand to see him peering in at me from the doorway, with some sick, sadistic look of glee on his face. He quickly, and very quietly closed and locked the door to the dressing room. And so it happened… my body froze in its place, while my heart raced like a wild horse.

cold

It's been days since I got lost. The ground is covered in frost. I can no longer feel my toes or even the tip of my nose. Fingers turning black and ive already learned the cold hard fact. And so it happened my body froze in place while my heart raced like a horse.
