The Cliffhanger

I waited

Patiently

I was set in stone

Fear rushing through me

Palms sweaty

Uncertain of his words

My lips swollen

Bitten from my nerves

"Babe, did you hear me? I said what was so important you needed me to come home?"

He searched me for answers. There I stood, long deep breaths. Here goes nothing.

"I'm pregnant."

And so it happened, my body froze in its place while my heart raced like a wild horse.
