The Black Dragon

I am the last of my kind. Nobody believes anymore in the magic that hides within reality. Sunlit doorways through hedges and pixie dust on the children. I hone my skills alone in the forest, under the deep green canopy, shaded from prying eyes. That shadow that chills you, casting shapes across your sunlit path, is me. I alone ride the skies, astride this last survivor, tamed, and as my steed, still mighty. Iridescent shimmering light reflects off his black scales, the sun blocked by leathery wings. Wings large enough to cover that orb as they beat furiously, keeping us aloft. I am the last dragonslayer. They call me in their dreams, for they doubt my true existence. But I hold the famed blue sword, and the legacy is mine alone. Dragons are only graceful in flight, and oh how we fly!  Soaring to the sun like Icarus, and falling in circular tumbles until we hit the atmosphere. You see us, and rub your eyes in disbelief. That's alright. We'll  remain hidden, away from rabid, prying eyes. We are mythical; he is legend, and he is the last dragon.

Wings of A Beast

Asparagus, the green dragon

guards the castle door

with wrapped presents

in his toothsome mouth.

He presents a monstrous

challenge to mere mortals.

Tame the hulking dragon

and his looming presence

will be your prize.

And you will fly

on proud wings

of a majestic beast.

Lakes & Dragons

They exist, where it matters but you stand up to them when you have to

Do dragons exist?

What a silly question

They fuel your thoughts

Fire your ideas

Burn the bad and self hate

They are blind, of course

They sometimes fire the worst ideas and thoughts

Sometimes they miss the bad and the self hate

That's what you're for

You're the knight

North American Dragon

They say that dragons are only part of folklore. That they are they are only capable of guarding treasure, breathing fire, and capturing princesses. But dragons are real.

At least, they once were real. No, they did not shoot fire from their gut, or prevented a certain plumber from saving a damsel in another castle. This dragon did fly, but in water not in the air. And without wings.

This ancient dragon that swims across the great seaway that would later erode and dry into a landscape known as North Dakota is called Plioplatecarpus. He was much smaller than is cousin Mosasaurus but just as deadly. This beast glided weightless across the warm salty sea, his serpentine eyes scanning the horizon. He then spots a speck of movement. An injured Ammonite bobbing up and down rang Plioplatecarpus' dinner bells. With a great thrust from his flipper-like limbs, Plioplatecarpus lunged towards his prey.

CHOMP! The killer jaws severed the poor Ammonite from its empty shell. The other portion minced into a bloody cloud of bits and meat as Plioplatecarpus swallowed it whole.

Remember, not all dragons appear in fairy tales. They were more real than you could imagine.

Malifecent

She was beautiful! The sexiest woman he ever laid his eyes on, she had a way about her that was.. So.. Alluring. Her red hair fell around her shoulders like tendrils on a vine. Her eyes were a golden color that flashed green on occasion. Her skin glistened like dew on a flower. Her body was curvy in all the right spots, 44DD, 34, 40.

Her gaze could hold his attention for the longest time.

Her kisses were magic, one kiss and she could transport him to another world. A world of magic and fairies and things of that sort.

BUT PISS HER OFF AND YOU THOUGHT DRAGONS DIDN'T EXIST!

The leap

I leaped off a cliff, my arms outstretched

My friends thought me to be dead.

I glided back up with wings beneath me,

my face so smug and proud to be me.

The fighting, useless words and sarcasm faded.

They finally understood my secretive stair.

They had called me a liar.

They realized I was right from the beginning.

"And you thought dragons didn't exist... Ha!"

The Way the Wind Blew

Both were young boys of eighteen and they were watching the world collapse in front of them. The sun was setting and the city was releasing the smoke of mortality. The way the wind blew made the city look like the world's birthday cake with the buildings resembling candles. One of the boys got down from the ledge of the high rise and decided to go down and embrace the new scavenger's reality. The other one just jumped. However, that isn't what made the boy who walked turn around. It was the sound of a large whooshing sound followed by a thump over regular intervals. The boy who was walking away turned around, astonished by what he saw. It was the other boy, rising up on the back a lizard with wings. In his usual cocky fashion, he remarked, "And you thought dragons didn't exist!"

Dragons

Dragons exist, if only in your imagination. And what more do you need?

For all we know, everything that we assume to be reality, everything that we have taken as fact regarding existence, is wrong. All of it.

With that in mind, why not believe in dragons? They're probably just as real as everything else--which is to say, not at all.

Reign

Do not dream, they told me, of dragons.

Do not waste your time with stories of fire and flight, of golden hoards and soaring freedom. Such ideas are folly; such hopes are weak.

They told me to forget all that I loved, for this world was much too harsh for one buried in fantasy. Make-believe armor would not deflect the sharp arrows of reality.

So I hardened my skin against them, hardened myself until they could taste the cold steel of my scales, the fire in my breath, and the poison in my veins. They would feel the wrath in my talons and the strength of my wings.

They could not undermine the might of the queen of monsters.

And they would soon regret believing that dragons did not exist.
