A Bend of Magic
Stirred by sound and the unsettled pond
A lotus took one look at itself for the first time
How it knew of its own reflection is a deeper
Mystery locked beneath the changeless mire
In-between the whispers of heather and tangled in the
Lost voices of the moors
The lotus leaned into this steel bend of magic
And for the first time, fell in love
Where did it come from? What does it feel?
As alien as its own wan inhabitance
Burning bright, but cool to the touch
So much different from the shallow, muddy waters
So much different from the small, cold drops of rain
Lifting the burden of foul dragonflies and
Persnickety finches
The lotus, under the sun's mysterial gaze, shivered
It smiled and liked what it saw
The moon must have fell down from the sky!
It did not take an eternity, here, lying
Quite heavily, its last beam, reaching out
While, all around, the water lilies breathed out a sighing scent
The lotus began to hum, pulling the young bees away from
Their pollinating and stilling the waters...
The reality was that the moon was a spoon
How it got there, no one would care to solve
Could have fell off a picnic table
Could have bounced off a dump truck
Nobody would be searching for it now
Now that it was found

People around you
Working really hard
Couldn't even get sleep
Just to put food on the table
People around you
Worked day and night
Couldn't even spend time
To the family--so they could put roof above their heads
People around you
Worked their ass off
Yet you're just there watching
Waiting to be fed
The people around you
Won't put up with you too long
There's NO SPOON to feed you
So you better get going
That you should've done all along
No spoon!!
Then how can I eat my soup,
That I need so desperately,
For I can not live with out the magical taste of my soup!
I love my soup with all my heart,
If I can not eat my soup my heart will shrivel up and die.
Then I will be alone in the dark with a bowl but no spoon to eat it with,
So what is the use to have a bowl of soup but no way to eat it!
There is no spoon
There is no spoon,
So you see,
I can’t eat my food,
And you can’t eat with me.
What is all left
If it is gone?
Who will save us
From this disaster?
This food on the table,
Where will it go?
No one is here to know.
For there is no spoon,
And there are no people
And you’re alone.
If only there was a spoon...
What To Do?
Had his morning cereal all ready to go...but no spoon. At his recent garage sale, his buddies all thought it would be hilarious to sell off all of his silverware for a nickel. Haha, reaaaaaalllly funny guys. What they didn’t know was just how resourceful he was. They always thought he was nuts for little things he used to save. So he began to search drawer by drawer as he muttered to himself, “Jokes on them...I know it’s here someplace. Where is it? Wheeeere is it?” Then with a grin on his face he found his prize exclaiming, “AHA!!! Yeah!!! SPORK! What now punks?!” All those trips to KFC had just paid off.
