Dear Elephant Bird,

Long ago you disappeared due to the vicious humans, but my love for you has remained. Even during the 17th and 18th centuries, they were selfish. I'm sorry that when they arrived at your island, Madagascar, they raided your homes and ate your children. You didn't know any better than to be curious, so don't blame yourselves. It must have been terrible, watching them break your children's protective shell and then roasting them over an open fire before slurping the innards down. But I refuse to believe you've been beaten. The Way on social media we make of our traditional best friend the Dog into a cause of hilarity / this is one example of our breed's insensitivity. A dog will always adore you or I, for any simple care or words, that are kindness that if we look back, any dog will by their great heritage of love they ALWAYS deserve.
