Drives

What drives me is the thought if failing and letting down my coaches and/or parents. I just want them to be proud if me,to be able to say to their neighbor, (if they wanted to)" That is my kid." I like to please. The feeling I get when I impress someone is amazing!

Driving me:

Hope and fear, equally mixed. Fear of failure, fear I'll never amount to anything, fear I will fail at my passions and have nothing to fall back on. Yet fear pushes me to be better. Because if I'm better, then that fear can't come true, right?

But hope encourages me. It whispers softly, "You can succeed" and I desperately long for that to be true. And, with hope and fear pushing me on, I cannot help but be driven.

Simple

Obsession. The need fulfilled becoming more need until just the need fulfills. The way wind drags ceaselessly on dry leaves or surf smashes itself. To be those things or die trying. And there's no "or."
