Lie Plus Seven
A lie has 7 ending
Or so the story is told
So let's tell a little lie and see how far it goes.
I lied and said my sister was sick
But really she went on a date.
When her husband brought her
Soup home, lie one was a mistake
Being sick as the lie was told
Bought a lot of family to visit.
The look on their faces because of my lie, you wouldn't want to miss it
My sister had to move with me
Because her husband kicked her out
The guy on the date was her husband's best friend so he punched him in the mouth.
The fifth ending was losing her job, because her husband was her boss.
The sixth ending cost me because
She was truly depressed.
The seventh ending was getting a plan to clean up all of this mess.
I Million Ways
If I had a million bucks,
I'll use it in a million ways.
I'll find a building to help the homeless cover on rainy days.
I'll pay my debts and bless someone to pay theirs as well.
I'll pay my mom's hospital bills
Because she has been my shell.
I'll buy clothes and shoes for some children at Red Cross.
I'll pay some school dues for graduates trying to be boss.
If I have any money left,
I would quiet the silent cry.
For those who couldn't buy
Headstone for their love ones in the sky.
Defeat
Yes, I was defeated in every way.
I awaken in the morning with a massive headache.
I brushed my teeth and cracked the brush head.
I had some coffee that was left for the dead.
I drove to the job, and caught a flat tire.
When I arrived, I was fired because the job does not rehire.
I drove to unemployment to find another job.
I stopped to eat at my favorite place but they had been robbed.
To end a beautiful day I headed home to find my bills in a stack.
Eviction notice on my door,
Damn.. I might as well pack!
August 28th, Happy Birthday To Me
Happy birthday to me,
From now on I'll live life free.
Free from arguing and things like that.
Free from caring if someone likes my hats.
Free from hoping that love finds me.
That's what it means when you live life free.
I'm sexy sixty (60) today
And I feel my best.
I'll move as fast as I can, and work as hard as I can, then rest.
I'll answer to no one.
And I'll get the job done.
From now on, I'll live life free.
Happy Birthday To ME.

Just For A Summer
She was kind and cute
Frisky and fun.
We shared thoughts that
Only we knew .
We treasured our moments
Filled with love .
Time had our sorrows attached
With each day that passed.
I wouldn't trade the memory
We made for nothing on this earth.
She looked at me as I melted away.
I looked at her begging her to stay.
We laughed, loved, and lost each other because it was ...
Just for a summer.
ASE Certifications
I knew nothing about automotive parts, but I applied to be a cashier at Advance Auto Part. I got the position. I went from being a cashier to a parts counter associate. Then I became assistant manager. I worked under a beautiful blonde lady manager that saw more in my abilities than I saw. Then I heard about ASE Certifications. Only the professional guys at service stations and service parts place like Ford had them. But I was told that we could take the test too. I noticed that I very rarely saw any women with the patch on their sleeves. So I applied to take the test. I was going to "Take the risk, or lose the chance.". Well it wasn't easy. I took the test and missed by 2. The second test by 1. And two and one became a sequel through 8 test. It's really frustrating when you miss by one.
Each time I went to take the test there was approximately 25 men, and one woman me. But they didn't intimidate me in the least
Because I was there for what they were there for. I kept seeing the same faces when I returned. Tough test indeed. Finally, number nine was a winner by 2 point ahead. And now I'm ASE certified as a Parts Professional.
Until Next Time
Papa, my heart can't believe
That you passed on.
The most important man
in my life since I was born.
My father was young
and did the best he could.
But you stepped to the plate
and made sure that I was good.
My children got to know
how good it was to be your
great grand.
They had a chance to appreciate
their Papa, a great man.
Being the only girl by my dad was
Always tough.
Until ten years ago, being the only granddaughter was more than enough.
But I always felt special in your eyes.
Even though I wasn't one of the guys.
But we will mourn the same and I will never forget.
The love that you gave me
With no regrets.
I sent a message to God to please honor you with your wings.
So that you can appear
as my Angel in everything .
Please PaPa hug my grandma and that father of mine.
Please know that I love y'all
with a heavy heart until next time.
***I wrote this poem for my daughter whom recently lost her grandfather on her dad's side, lost her dad last year, and lost her grandmother the year before that. She was too upset to write it, so I wrote it for her.
Believe it or not
Believe it or not
Next month I will be sixty.
It was a long journey and I'm only half way there. I plan to live to see 100 with God's will. But your body never agrees with your time period. I look young but move old. Every bone in my body hurts sometimes. I was born with arthritis and it took its time to spread to every joint. But I'm still here and God is Good. So I am proud to be turning sixty on the 28th of August. I didn't hit menopause until I was 55. My menstrual wasn't going to ever stop. Finally they did. Hot and cold flashes come and go. Although I have several books published, several certifications and a degree, I still did not get the finance I need to survive so the challenge remains in place.
Fistchallenge4kids is a non profit for me but is so fun and mind settling for me to know that I helped someone else. So turning sixty is only an age I can be proud to say is my birthday next month.
