I come to prose because no one else knows

How unhappy I am with the life I chose

I go searching for love and affection

For the 2nd time in a row it seems that I've went in the wrong direction

Every man I meet, there seems to be something wrong with his mental

And worse than that he has an equally ill temper

He don't put his hands on me

But the ugliness I saw when he's in rage, got me thinking nah that's the man for me

I thought we were soul mates,  I thought we could grow together

I wanted to be like Chrisette Michelle and have a couple of forevers

You're down about your life

But what about the responsibility you took on... a kid and a wife

I get it, you have a degree and wasn't able to put it to use

You're not the first one, so what's your next excuse?

All this stressing

You're suppose to be working on being a teacher, but you haven't learnt your lesson

 A loyal family this day and time is a blessing

But now I'm thinking was this lust or are we destined?

No one knows the pain I carry inside of meBut hopefully you get yourself right, or baby I'm going to leave

You have a bruised heart

But she had a bruised arm

You claim you wanted peace

But you placed yourself and your family back in the storm

She just don't understand how you haven't learned

She thought respect was not given, but earned

Why is he your life support, when clearly he's not really there

It's obvious you're not thinking clear

You said you wanted to apologize

And she seen right through the lies

You weren't sorry, you just missed your crutch

You have to get yourself right before your family becomes a distant touch

You're steady leaning, but it's your turn to lead

It's now time to water your seed

It could've been a test to see if you were ready to protect

But yet you chose to reach out to those who neglects

Bruised heart and bruised arm

When will you wake up, somebody ring the alarm

Lack of communication

Disrespect at an all time high

If I was Muhammad Ali I would black your eye

No tears in sight, both eyes are dry

When you've experience so much pain and you no longer cry

What you're going through is no excuse to act the way you do

Sometimes the things you go through is because of you

Rage in my heart, I'm tired of this mess

If I act exactly how you act, would you think less?

Thinking about taking the next step

I may need to step and let you get yourself help

That anger you carry is a weapon of mass destruction

And although life don't come with instructions

I believe we're all born with the mentality of knowing wrong from right

They say fight or flight

In life you have to fight your way through

Whether you fail or succeed is up to you

Use your inner strength, don't defeat yourself

Reach out to God if you feel you need help

This is a battle that you must end

And controlling yourself and knowing your inner strength is the only way to win

A fatherless daughter, a fatherless son

It's so messed up when you leave before their journey has begun

Who's going to show your daughter how a woman is suppose to be treated

Who's going to show your son that just because he fell, it doesn't mean that he's defeated

You made it easier on yourself, but harder on the child

Now the rest of the world wonders why that child chooses not to smile

Feeling like they weren't good enough

Yes, they have their mother, but where is their father when the going gets tough?

Some years later, you tried to return

But where were you when they had things they needed to learn

They still tried to give you a chance

Hoping that you're now a better man

But you came with sobs and lies

And it was then they seen the man they despised

You left another man to pick up your pieces

And you wonder why it's not all hugs and fun when you see them

Your son is looking at you like, I don't want to be anything like him

Your daughter is saying... Look at this fake and phony

Before I be with a man like my father, I'll choose to be lonely

Your left feeling sorry for yourself

But you failed to realize it was them who needed your help

Your beautiful smile and your equally beautiful eyes

The way you look at me while you're in between my thighs

It's your love that I desire

Your words that keep me inspired

I don't think you really know how much you mean to me

And although sometimes I might get frustrated with you, you give me peace in this world of insanity

I might not say I love you enough

And my attitude is a little rough

I'm working on me to be better for you 

Because flaws and all, you're my dream come true

The way you caress my body in your arms

The way you assure me that there is peace after the storm

That's what kept our love strong

For 4 years, 2 months, and 26 days long

Life and Death

There's a thin line between the two and it's called your health

They say everything in life is free

But it's not, as far as I can see

We have people over here struggling in our own backdoor

But every chance they get the government is raising the prices, asking for more

They say you can't be successful unless you have a college education

But I ask what information is that based on?

You go to school and complete your bachelor's and they bury you in school loans

What kind of system is the U.S. built on?

It's impossible to pay the loan and obtain your transcripts right after education

We're living the life, but the road we're traveling on is a dead end

Living in a community where the only thing that's important is the amount of money you spend

The type of clothes you wear, they say you're not poppin if you don't rock designer

But I say compared to where we are as a whole, those things are minor

Dare to elevate your mind and look past all the materialistic things you can find

We're walking a trail, trying to find success

If you can still feel love after dealing with all the cruel struggles of the world, consider yourself blessed
