Challenge of the Week: A Great Change
Write about change. The fear, the drama, the mystery. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.

I Knew This Would Happen But I Still Hoped it Wouldn’t

This was always going to happen. And why shouldn’t it? I can’t expect you to remain still just because I silently asked the void. It’s selfish of me to even think otherwise. You’re so eager to move while I’m content with a standstill. Why do I want you to stop too? How can I claim to be in love if I want you to stay in a place you aren’t happy? I’ve begged. I’ve pleaded to whatever powers that be, hoping for some divine intervention to stop you leaving. I knew this would happen but I still hoped it wouldn’t.

Challenge
Prompt Time!
Let's have some fun! I will give a prompt and you guys do something deep with it! Make me say 'holy shit that's good'. You have 75 words to blow me away. Winner will be chosen by yours truly. Here's the prompt: Humans are cursed where every lie they tell creates a scar on their body. The bigger the lie, the bigger the scar.

Make Me Feel Good

You make me believe that I am enough

You make me feel like I matter to you

You make me feel things that no one else could

You make me feel good.

You make me want to try harder

You make me forget all my pain

You flatter me more than anyone should

You make me feel good.

Now I can see all the scars you've been hiding

Never make me feel good again.

Challenge

Us

Drinking under the stars

You noticed Mars

Laying amongst the flowers

That'll always be ours.

Challenge
Challenge of the Week XCVIII
After Sunset. Write about the night, or something that happens at night. You can write about anything you want, as long as it takes place after sunset, and before sunrise. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.
MorganDavies

It’s Always Night

I claw my way towards the light,

Fingers clutched in earth, so tight,

I see the end, the gates of white,

The end of dark is just in sight.

The light, it dims, as if in spite,

A cold wind blows with icy bite,

I cannot lose without a fight,

I feel my spirit reignite.

Even though the sun is slight,

A new day dawns, it’s oh so bright,

Darkness follows, creeping right

behind my back, it holds me tight.

Heavens will you hear my plight?!

Free me from this lack of sight,

I scream and plea, try as I might,

There is no sun, it’s always night.

Challenge
When I'm gone
Write to someone or the world or just in general about what would happen if you were gone. Or what you wish would happen. Use the prompt and do what feels right for you.
MorganDavies in Poetry & Free Verse

Attendees at My Funeral

Thank God you’re gone. No one ever liked you. You were worthless and nothing but a cancer to this Earth. Everyone is breathing a sigh of relief because they no longer have to share the same air as you. People pretended to like you. Everyone wanted you to go. We wished that you went sooner. I’d rather slash my own throat than spend five more minutes with you, you disgusting waste of space. I hope you enjoy rotting and being eaten by maggots because you deserve it. You are pathetic. No one will miss you. You’re already forgotten.

Rest in fucking pieces.

Challenge
Mirror Challenge
Look into the mirror for at least one minute, into your own eyes. Into your soul. Not about how you look, but look into yourself through the mirror. Write what you saw and felt.
MorganDavies in Poetry & Free Verse

I See Nothing

On the wall, atop a stair

See a mirror, placed with care

Simple shape, a smallish square

Framed with gold, for eyes to glare.

Must I look? I cannot bear

It might just crack if I should stare

I stand in front, I am nowhere

You cannot see what isn’t there.

Challenge
Write the most boring sentence you can think of.

Exterior Blind

People of all ages, religions and races,

Regardless of creed, beliefs and birthplaces,

No matter your size, handicaps or conditions,

Your wealth or your work or your social positions

Stand here united in a world so diverse,

Dismiss all prejudices, their effects are adverse

Live hand in hand, and never feel shame,

Our exteriors may differ, but we all bleed the same.
