Into their shade

Mean girl

Your skin is now tan from a long summer,

Smelling of fruity perfume, artificial just like her.

Your hair is a tide back flow of blonde hair sprayed locks smelling of mint which can be overwhelming if you get to close and make your eyes water from time to time, just like her.

Her laughter is always mocking, daring me to take it a step further in either direction or both and I think to myself,

As much as I hate her

I desire her as well.

Waiting for daddy

"Now, you die." Proclaimed the girl in a soft grave voice, holding the squeaky toy carrot as if it were a weapon. With her weapon positioned and ready to strike she narrowed her eyes down coldly at her victim, her baby brother below her chewing on his first, absentmindedly drooling. An unnaturally wide smile not quite meeting her eyes slowly creeped across her face and she let out a low uneven giggle. She swiftly swiveled her arm and cocked her weapon at her baby brother's face, both pigtails swinging from the violent move, face desolate of any emotion.

"NO, S-STOP P-PLEASE, I'M SO SO SORRY!!!" She said in a high desperate voice to play the part for her mute baby brother.

"I'm sorry but it's just to late for forgiveness, you have to be punished." The girl chastised her victim. Keeping her weapon positioned above her giggling and gurgling baby brothers's body, she repeatedly bopped his chest in a stabbing motion and reeled back to shoot at him making gun noises.

"And just what are you two playing in here?" The girl's mother asked suddenly making an appearance and leaning against the door frame to the small bedroom.

The girl meet her mothers questioning gaze. "Playing murder." She said simply. "I'm practicing for when dad comes to visit with his new girlfriend Lindsey."

The mother stood there for a long moment in silence then gave a loving smile. "Keep practicing sweetie."

Not quite gone yet

It's only the smell of cherry lipgloss,

but suddenly I can remember.

I can hear it,

the warmth and tingle of her laughter,

I can feel it,

her soft lips pressed up against mine,

I can see it,

her looking at me with those gorgeous eyes only she has.

I can remember all that and feel it around me but once I open my eyes it's long gone,

 off somewhere far back,

almost forgotten.

Distorted thoughts

My life feels twisted

I want it to stop

can't keep running on faith

So maybe I'll let just go ahead and end it

Maybe

Newcomer

I just came to win the prize, my growing ego assured me I would.

As I dug a little deeper through the surface of this place I discovered unknown words, indescribable but familiar feelings, and truths usually left unspoken. The growing silence in my mind was replaced by a buzz of new thoughts and ideas, We are all writers yet we write and feel things so diffrently!

Now I know this isn't just another way to use half hearted skill to make quick and easy money. This is somewhere I can let my mind grow and start to feel a connection again to the words I am reading, to the words I am writing.
