Waiting for daddy

"Now, you die." Proclaimed the girl in a soft grave voice, holding the squeaky toy carrot as if it were a weapon. With her weapon positioned and ready to strike she narrowed her eyes down coldly at her victim, her baby brother below her chewing on his first, absentmindedly drooling. An unnaturally wide smile not quite meeting her eyes slowly creeped across her face and she let out a low uneven giggle. She swiftly swiveled her arm and cocked her weapon at her baby brother's face, both pigtails swinging from the violent move, face desolate of any emotion.

"NO, S-STOP P-PLEASE, I'M SO SO SORRY!!!" She said in a high desperate voice to play the part for her mute baby brother.

"I'm sorry but it's just to late for forgiveness, you have to be punished." The girl chastised her victim. Keeping her weapon positioned above her giggling and gurgling baby brothers's body, she repeatedly bopped his chest in a stabbing motion and reeled back to shoot at him making gun noises.

"And just what are you two playing in here?" The girl's mother asked suddenly making an appearance and leaning against the door frame to the small bedroom.

The girl meet her mothers questioning gaze. "Playing murder." She said simply. "I'm practicing for when dad comes to visit with his new girlfriend Lindsey."

The mother stood there for a long moment in silence then gave a loving smile. "Keep practicing sweetie."
