1...

i don’t break

i’m not made of glass

i’m not made of bone

or water

i’m made of atoms

colliding

energy declining

tears spreading

and hopes shattering

i don’t break

i made of muscle

and fat

my tears don’t taste of salt

but of pain

i don’t break

You're a Pompeiian poet. Volcanic ash is raining down. You write one last poem. What is it?

The End

The end has come sooner than thought,

the heavens are raining poision,

and my people are crying tears of agony.

Promises of eternal love are being shared,

hope for the afterlife has shaken,

and the Gods are being foresaken.

My loved ones are all together,

crying and wailing.

My heart has been shattered.

The world will be consumed in flame,

I will be consumed as well.

I just hope

it will not hurt those old

and innocent

I just hope it will end peacefully.

Wanderlust

Wonder filled souls claimed her heart

Headfirst for a drink

Her body convulsed in darkness

drunk on alcohol and sex

Although fun was to be had

she lost all joy

her heart dropped

she found him

not the one

but he showed her a glimpse

A glimpse of sex and wanderlust

she ravaged it

The eye-rolling orgasms

following each other

wave after wave

until it was never enough

she did it every night

trying to fill the void

until it consumed her

a glimpse

turned into a drenched pool of wanderlust

and she stayed there

dripping, holding onto dreams that have been lost

Hearts that have been shattered

and love that has been lost

Lizzi Potts

Lizzi Potts, I swear.

Lizzi Potts, I'm begging for air.

Lizzi Potts, they just stare.

Lizzi Potts, what is your game?

Lizzi Potts, such a name.

Lizzi Potts, you have the fame.

Lizzi Potts, I don't need to acclaim.

Lizzi Potts, I wish I could touch.

Lizzi Potts, I wish I could hold you in my clutch.

Lizzi Potts, you're the world,

but there is no need for much.

Generic

We were wild,

the night was dark

when we fucked.

I barely knew you,

You barely knew me,

but now we do.

It sounds so cliche,

Yet felt so right.

I still want you,

You were different.

At least that's what I told myself,

Yet you were as generic as they got...

Je t’aime

I was scared

Tears flowing

trickling

sour like lemons

My heart beating

frantic

I surrendered

Yielding to the pain

The fight left my body

gasping, begging for more

I turned running

hoping, holding onto the high

It felt right

Excuses left my lips

kissed my skin

torturing me

They bit my smooth exterior

kicking back

"Je t'aime"

"Je t'aime"

Words felt foreign

betrayal harsh

skin and touch cold

eyes dead

lips chapped

stop

look at me

look at my clothes

look at my hair

look at my eyes

look at how red and puffy they are

how tired and lifeless they look

how drained they are

"stop

you're hurting me

stop

please

stop"

The word meant nothing

the word never hit your ears

the word were never said

and now you're screaming it back

to me.

Your the most dangerous kind of danger

The kind that doesn't have a warning

You look too clean

Your danger

trimmed with dangerous beauty

hiding darkness

flashing false light

Your features show no pain

No attitude

Just mind-numbing beauty

Trapping its host

holding people captive

drawing even more trouble in

Moments graceful

dresses glimmering in sunshine

drunken on laughter

claiming love-seeking hearts

Turning you into nothing

yet underneath that lace

a masterpiece lies

a indulgent mess of art

claiming its stake on the world

Nobody has seen the danger

and survived

after all none would expect it

especially because of all the lace

Lace trim,

sewn on with fast hands,

Neatly, steadily

Holding on just slightly,

Hatred for thread,

Woven from the pain,

Tears holding it all together.

Lace intricately woven,

from carefully muniplative hands,

drawing patterns of dead flowers,

on delicate rock surfaces.

Chasing designs,

etching careful hearts on glass,

laying them over danger.

Danger made from shards of a broken soul,

Dark as midnight,

shining a mournful glow,

to an already dark fate.

Hatred filled needles pierce danger,

covering, trimming and lining,

Giving the world perspective,

Lacing a dull bright danger.

A lace trimmed danger.

in the dark

you wanted to know what I do in the dark?

i don't do much,

i could show you,

it's really simple,

i don't hide the fact.

i have no reason to be ashamed,

i know you do it too,

it's wild,

different too,

you might like it,

i hold nothing back,

and maybe you'll like it,

maybe then you'll see i did nothing wrong.
