That perfect spot in the middle
I'm a big fan of being sad, but being happy is so boring
I prefer something that is neither and both
like a bitter happiness
a joyous pain
A feeling that rings in you
like a song so distracting you hate it
but so captivating you never want it to end
so deliciously bitter like dark chocolate
A feeling so complex you're sure you must be human
So you’ve got cabin fever?
Here's five pro tips to help!
#1:
Are you stuck inside with your annoying family members or roomates? Are you really tired of them being the only faces around all day? Well have I got the solution for you: simply take any of that cruddy makeup you bought or received over the holidays, and a razor (electric would be best). All you have to do is wait till your roomate/family member is asleep, shave off the back of their hair, and use that makeup to make a brand new friend right on the back of your old one! Now whenever they're getting on your nerves you just walk behind them and talk to your new, better, friend.
#2:
If solution #1 isn't working for you, here's a great alternative: All you gotta do is take whoever has been bothering you, and tie 'em up - you could use duct tape, rope, whatever you got around the house! This way you can shut 'em up, and get them outta sight!
#3:
But maybe it's not the people bothering you so much as being stuck inside. Maybe you just don't like not being able to spend the day outside, sitting under a tree. Well here's a way you can spend the day outside without having to worry about the cold! Just buy hundres of space heaters, and set them up throughout your neighborhood, and anywhere else you want to go. Suddenly it's as hot outside as a summer day!
#4:
Or are you looking for a more permanent solution to these problems? I still got you covered! Here's all you have to do: get you and all your loved-ones a rocket ship, and build yourselves a brand new home on the surface of the sun. Your days will never be cold again!
#5:
That still doesn't work for you? You don't have access to a rocket ship? Well don't worry, I've got one more solution for you. It's simple really, all you have to do is wait for a nice perfect day come along, a day that you would want to last forever, and simply stop the rotation of the earth so that the day really does last forever. You'll never deal with being stuck inside again, you'll never have to deal with the cold again. Plus it doesn't require anything that costs money! All you need is the ability to control the movement and gravitational pull of all large objects in space - easy peasy!
A Beautiful and Terrible Revenge
She stood there, above his wounded body, as she raised her ax to deliver the killing blow.
Coughing and spitting blood he rhasped "death cannot part us, I'll always be with you. Even if you kill me now, I'll be waiting for you on the other side." His grin was pained but smug.
"Then I swear revenge on you in every life to come. You've rightfully earned this fate." Hot tears of rage ran down her face, twisted with anger, as she swung the ax down on his skull.
He was finally gone. But she was determined to make sure his pain hadn't ended yet.
And he was right. His death did not stop what he'd done from haunting her. but still, for the moment after she'd killed him, everything was perfect.
I Never Really Liked Christmas
I always liked giving
And recieving is good too
Those aren't the problem
I don't like the movies
Movies that make it all about presents
Movies that are always the same
I don't like the decorations
The lights that hurt my eyes
The ornaments are always too much
I don't like the songs
Songs with annoying tunes
Songs about things that just don't matter
I never really enjoyed Christmas time
Though the holiday is good but
The celebration is so seperate from the meaning
Midnight Lights
Olivia's mother told her to go to sleep by nine so that she would wake up on time to get ready for the next day. But just like every night Olivia stayed awake in her room waiting for midnight.
Every night at exactly midnight the most beautiful rainbow of colorful lights would shine through her bedroom window, and stretch over her floor, and the foot of her bed. They would dance across her walls, and even reach to the ceiling.
Tonight Olivia wanted to try something special. So as soon as he rmother's footsteps faded away down the hall, she got up and pulled a homemade shandelier of glass prisms out from under her bed.
Olivia hung her project in front of her window, and went back to her bed. She was very eager to see how this would affect the lights.
When midnight finally arrived the lights came, as always, but this timeThey were different.
They were amplified to be ten times brighter. And as the brilliant colors spread over every surface in her room, some of them seemed to take the forms of beautiful dancers, in stunning outfits, dancing on her floor, walls ceiling, and even reaching to her desk. They performed different moves and twirls, some of them even danced different styles.
But once the clock struck one am, all the colors quickly faded, and her room was just like normal.
In the Attic
Every night I always hear creacking from the attic. But it sounds like it's just the house settling, or the wind or something. There was never anything really odd.
Until the other night, I was lying in my bed and heard something in the attic fall over. But that wasn't all, I also heard a wierd scratching noise on the attic door that was in my closet.
For a couple days I too scared to check it out, but earlier this morning I decided I had to know what that was.
I hadn't been in the attic since I first moved in, there was already a bunch of stuff left up there, that I never bothered to clean out, I wasn't really sure what it was like.
But I gathered my courage, and walked to the attic door, and slowly pulled it open.
It was too dark to see anything inside, but I could feel a small draft coming from somewhere in the attic.
So I climbed up the ladder attached to the door, and went inside the attic. But before I had the chance to turn the light on, the attic door shut behind me.
I was only in darkness for a moment, because just after the door shut, it lit up.
Right in front of me was a tree in my attic. It was a willow tree with long branches that hung all the way from the highest point of the ceiling to the floor. And it's roots were curled across the floor.
And every inch of this mysterious tree was eminating a strange light. And the leaves and branches were swaying in the draft, though I couldn't see a single place this wind could be coming from.
I noticed a box that had been nocked over, it looked like a root had spread under it and caused it to fall. Must be what the thump I heard was. And I assume the light scratching noise was the branches brushing against the door.
I started to reach out to touch the branch hanging closest to me, but as soon as my hand got close to it the mysterious wind picked up. And before my eyes the tree seemed to crumble into a golden dust. It passed between my fingers, feeling warm and soft, as it was carried away in the wind.
The dust dissapeared, the wind stopped, and I was left standing in the darkness of my attic.
