Absence

Stagnant. Unstimulating. Full...

yet hollow...

How many of us have experienced life that can be described using these words at some point? When you think you've lost all desires and drives.

Reality has you absorbed in its pessimistic rationality and you calculate possibilities of happiness using a mathematical equation. Usually the chances are that of a coin landing on its head, if not the tail. Yet nothing seems to budge you.

Being the dominating notions we experience; fear ,uncertainty and anger are usually the sperm that makes it to the egg first rather than bliss. But at that moment in time even they don't hold any importance. Time is one ripple moving against its own tide.

To put it very simply in tasteless humour, it's being preoccupied with yourself not being preoccupied with anything at all.

That scares you.

They say ignorance is bliss. I think I'm starting to agree now.

Decoding Identity

Identity can be decoded by considering the relationship between selfishness and selflessness.

Please critique this statement. :)

Screams Never Heard

I lay with my feet cold; in perfect stillness as space and time go about their usual business...

I stay persistently silent using my body as a vessel to contain the intangible within the tangible.

After all, the loudest screams are never heard.

Until Then

I care about the present because it is the future of my past and the past of my future.

For as long as "when" remains a question, "now" shall be the answer.

Until "then" it will always be "now".

Nostalgia

The more acquaintances I make, the more I realise I met a friend in you.

I'd say I want to turn back time;

but then although together, we wouldn't be so close.

Your presence is stronger than your existance today.

Challenge
You're stuck in the middle of a desert. The sun is beaming against your skin. It's boiling hot. You have no way of communicating with the outside world whatsoever. All you have is a bottle of water. In a distance, you see paradise...the perfect mirage. Describe your perfect mirage in 20 words or less.

Mirage; Lollipops I Never Got

Horses kissing their distorted reflections in water.

Shadows four times the length of mine, attached to lollipops brown and green.

Challenge
It is easy to write about pain but we have to create a happy world. Let us write about happiness - not out of success or love or marriage. Write about the just like that kind of happiness. And make the world a happy place. It could be a poetry, a ballad or prose. Just pen down a smile today! And don't forget to tag me..

Freed Slave

I purchased my freedom from you.

My hair was the price.

Your memories were written in cursive

on each curly strand that fell.

Your darkness is the reason

it was the purity of white.

You killed me once.

You killed me twice.

If anything,

I've become immortal.

I purchased my freedom from you.

My hair was the price.

You went with it.

Now I am your master.

You are my prisoner.

You are imprisoned in the tip of my pen.

            ***************

PLEASE READ TILL THE END.

Countless number of people are victims of depression across the globe. Many commit suicide.

Depression is NOT any different from all those killings going on.

It is the worst form of terrorism. Its bullets fire from within.

Consider this the same as War on Terror.

FIGHT DEPRESSION.

Yes you can!

I know it.

Your soul is stronger.

Darkness is your candle."_Rumi.

My Lovely Cage

I built my own walls

from heaven.

God ordered me.

I'll need them.

To confine my vessel.

My vessel is untamed.

It cries out to my walls to let it out.

It yells it's desires.

It demands vengeful drinks.

My walls are generous.

They remain silent.

It demands power over it's own power.

It pushes hard.

But my walls are strong.

They listen quietly,

never letting a door appear.

A lion is most humble in it's cage.

Sunflower

I turn towards the Sun.

Is it because I haven't opened my eyes in the dark yet?

My petals are warm,

rays stitched together with a gold thread.

Is it because

the Winter hasn't laid it's cold hands on me?

My beauty.

Will it die with the colour of my petals?

Or is it a choice to keep it?
