Somebody I Need to Love

Awaited Confrontation

I Expected more of you

Your mouth spits gasoline, splatting

and inching its way down my neck and up my nose.

A little "huff" breath to fan it, then, at the embers of disgust littering my pores,

forgotten bottles at a bus stop

My skin caught fire at my hot fury long-quelled,

now I a blazing banshee

roaring brightly now in light of day, instead of

pillows at night;

eyes wide and flashing steam instead

of dammed flash floods drowning my sight.

You glare, your face melts down to disgust, and you leave me to burn down to dust.
