Summer's tears fall hard—

Willow boughs bow to the lake,

Undisturbed below.

Tides whisk shell to shore

Once a hermit crab's palace

Lions. Prey. One watering hole.

jetty of your outstretched arms—

Gull flies overhead

Plump winter turnip

Sweet like candy, white like snow

Begs to be unearthed

Midsummer typhoon—

Soaked by a wall of warm tears,

lone thrush seeks shelter

Clouds like dragons play

hide and seek with threads of sun—

Soulmates til nightfall

Dark roads lit by stars

Scorching June shaded by trees

Nothing asked of us

Split in two, exposed

Tree rings show dry years of late
