danger in leaving

someone will eat me someone

will cook my bones and my

blood will drip

with intent of staying alive

fear of flailing back

with a missing backbone

and hands that hold

the crushed wings of the blodied

moth, from the rouge prairies

of the sky

the world folds in

like a cape

drenched in the laughs

and the loves

and the tears of coming home

i never do

i never do

stare at the moon with me

Small beads of water seep

into the threads of your

coat like tendrils of ice intertwining

with your body

pulling you in,

embracing you with

the cold, wet caress

from the earth where you came from,

and the one where you’ll go to

in the end.

Try to feel the warmth of the moon.

Does it shout to you?

Does it mumble?

Does it whimper when

it begs you to stop, stop, looking

away?

Where I last saw you...

Ghosts

I saw you in my front porch today.

Not you, I'm

sure.

But close enough,

close

enough for me to

remember

how the way you were crying,

not the pretty type

but the one where

snot runs out of your nose and you

sob with all your might

how your heaving shoulders

made me forget just for

a tiny, tiny, moment

that you were the one

leaving

me

I see you everywhere, love

in train stations

and buses

and supermarket stores

and in how they changed the flower

display to roses before

valentine's

day

and the way the sun

sets at the west after a long, long day

long enough to read the letter you left me

when you turned around

and didn't

stop

walking.

Except you didn't leave, honey

not at all

not completely

not when you left a massive hole in

the muscle pumping away in my chest

untended and forgotten,

not when you

still haunt the hallways

like a ghost

with the lack of your coat

in the emptiness

and gaping holes

in the spaces

you left behind

and

never

fixed.

A Study on Ephemeral

maybe the beauty in the ephemeral

is in the way it lacks

eternity

the way it's present

and existent in the

now

like butterflies and birds

and how the way they land in your arms

makes you feel

younger

and peaceful

before they proceed to move on

to a dead log

with fallen leaves

maybe it's when

you drink hot chocolate

warm and thick and delightful

right until the cup cools

down

and tips

up

empty

and you realize that it was

gone

before you've even started

or maybe it's when you look at her

and you can't

breath

when she laughs

and the air is knocked out of

your lungs

and instead, instead

the world seems to be the one

breathing for you

inhaling for you

making you gasp

at that feeling of ethereal

of flowers blooming in spring

over, and over again

of infinity

in a moment

that passes in a tick-tock

Maybe the beauty in the ephemeral

is how it transcends a lifetime

in a moment, darling

waves

we have fallen past the crest

of longing

and have landed on the troughs

of contingency,

and hope,

and voracity,

garden of eden

if you rip my head open,

you will see:

whimpers of uncertainty,

moans of fear,

screams of emptiness.

but not here.

not when i look around and

the calm would ebb through me,

like a prayer

wishing and wanting

for flowers to grow from my stomach

and bubble out of my mouth.

not here,

not when i can finally, finally, close my eyes

and the depth of my thoughts

would soak my feet,

wet my limbs,

drown my lungs with ash.

not here.

not when i can sigh

and my tongue will not

twist

and pull

and burn from blasphemy.

no.

this is peace.

tides

the water is dragged away from the land

harsh and unrepentant

come back, come back, the sand will whimper

and the water will heave itself up the shore

over and over again

Hell’s angel

Feathers lashed and gaping

From the Father that abandoned us

And a Mother's tears of blood

Unfaithful, disloyal, blind.

Sparks and cracks

Of electric halos

Fueling the necessities

Of livid, torturous lives

The stones

Of psychedelic dreams

And frivolous attempts

Of humanity

Are weighing our wings

Down

Pulling us towards

The unknown abyss

Of damned eternity

Taste

The languid movement of my hand

As it draws near the edge of

The vessel of your warmth

My hands inch closer

And closer

Until I bump into the finality of a caress

A sudden jolt caused by the sweltering heat

Of the hesitant touch of my fingertips

To your sides

I take you as you take me

Breathing slowly

Inhaling your familiar musk

I love this

I love how easy it is to gulp you

And feel you in my veins

This is how I prefer

To start my mornings

With the gullible surrender brought by

Coffee
