I was talking to Granny

A little while ago

When I realized I was talking crazy

About a man I used to know.

You're my one and only dad

For the rest of my days

I used to always be so sad

Had the constant urge to blaze.

I see what's going on inside and out

So what "life's not fair."

God is always here.

He told me to help you, I'll always care

I resented your actions and personable nature

But couldn't deny what was said there at the steeple

This is EASY, not binomial nomenclature

Kingdom, phylum, class, we can do this together.

God gave you a gift, I'm not sure you see it.

He gave you steel hands and strength because you need it.

Cars are your passion and specialty forever.

Drugs aren't the way to heal yourself, never.

I see what you're doing but I see what you've done.

You're capable of so much, there's no need to run.

I believe in you for the first time ever.

100% I got your back I will never

Give in, give up, not try, or quit.

You must promise the same and recommit.

I rejected you before and now I'm making amends.

You've got a life with much more, if you ever need a friend

I'm your daughter, I'm here.

I want you to steer

Your life in a direction you know is clear.

When hope runs out and you're near an end

Look up to the sky, you'll hear a good friend.

This is his plan for you, not mine.

I'm just the messenger with a design.

You've got a garage full of tools

Never thought you belonged amongst bar fools

Take your knowledge and build a production

You've got everything you need, just some reconstruction

For yourself and granny than ever before.

You got this, you're great, you've got hope, it's restored.

God changed my life forever in every way possible

I'm not sure how, it just wasn't stoppable.

Open your eyes and open your heart

You know how I felt about God from the start.

Thought it was bullshit, a game to play.

But now you hear me, I always pray.

I believe in you dad and all you can do.

I pray for you constantly that you'll see it too.

Drugs aren't the way and drinking isn't either.
