It’s what they say about us

That gives us our poison

And ferocious bite

They call us cruel

Deceptive parasites

As if we enjoy lying in wait

For one of the living

To become our prey

We watch you swat at flies

Step on worms

and end countless little lives

Then proceed to go about yours

Life’s not an easy game to play

Being the monster

All the time

It's not a joy or envious position

I ask you how can we live on dust?

I take what I can get

Because it's mine for the taking
