My Forever

Devotion is the one thing I can do well

But for you, I would do better

Because you are forever

The smile must never leave your lips

Just as your joyful mask can never slip

Your open arms should be forever welcoming

Though I'm sure the pain is ever deafening

I promise it's okay to shed a tear

I promise your soul won't tear

But when tomorrow comes

And I hear those drums

What will you become?

Please.

Please, I beg of you

Don't let your heart forever be ill

As you stand suddenly so still

Ignore the pressure on your maw

For here I stand beside you

Loyal to the bone

Ready to catch you should you ever fall

But then I saw

I saw the reality that life is but a word

That may not exist for all

Still this lonely boat rocks

While the clocks continue to tock

Tomorrow will be here soon

And what can I say?

I believe in love and hate

That they sound just the same

For this was your destiny

To be dancing in your tears that made up the rain

To be surrounded by thorns and moving horns

I loved you still

Expected you to stay with me

Yet there you were

Dreaming a forever dream, you had left me

My thoughts on you never ceased

For my fantasies were still with you

And how can I sleep when I'm away from you

So I beg of these moving horns

The ones that gave us such burning words

Scatter me like fragments

For all I need is you

Let me stay by your side

In your ashy underworld

Because now as the rain continues to pour

Despite you smiling from under your hood

With lips that I could kiss

I now know there is no forever more
