"New-Agey" poetry
The main complaint people have about modern poetry is that it's hard to understand, but that's what I love about it! I challenge you to write something thought-provoking and as cryptic as possible- something that makes the reader shake their head in wonder. Don't forget to tag me @Dream !

gravity.

we once fell through glass skies

only to climb back up, we once

wanted to reach forever, we once

loved without apology.

but what is it to love, we asked

ourselves; what is it to give freely

without reward, what is it to

make the wrong turn & keep driving.

we once reached the edge

of the earth and stopped. we could

almost feel its weight, that damning pull,

that tireless and unrelenting force.

but what is it to fly without wings, we asked

ourselves; what is it to reach for the stars

if this universe is made up of nothing but

eons and eons of darkness. and so eventually

we returned. we once feared gravity

until we discovered it was only earth’s way

of saying “I need you”, always pulling us

back down, begging us to stay.

we have learned so much from it

and can no longer condemn it;

it has given us love

and we cannot ask for anything more.
