I would be a bird

so I could fly from my worries and troubles

so I could sleep on clouds and befriend the stars

I would be a fish

so I could float along the river of happiness

so I could say play chase with the shark

I would be a lion

so I could play hide-n-seek with the zebras and giraffes

so I could rule my safari empire 

I would be a monkey

so I could jump from branch to branch and feel the wind in my face

so I could race and fight with the chimpanzees

It's easy to do 

but hard to accept

Some cry and

others bleed

There's always the victim

and the killer

Some do it in the name of justice

others for pleasure 

and just cause they can

You can use a gun

or a knife

maybe even ordinary daily objects

It was self defense

It was cause of mental illness

It was cause you blacked out

You are now in prison

or your roaming among us

Whatever the reason

However you did

Wherever it was 

Whenever it was 

It was still murder
