Winter

Winter

Where roots grow deep and strong

And life contemplates itself

Within the stillness

Warm breath on frosted glass

Urging time to crawl to its

Next destination

Winter

We pause and take stock

Of the things we have lost

The experiences we have gained

And the wisdom that was gifted

Within the struggle

We become grateful for the internal warmth

The hands we hold

The simple abundance we maintain

The hearts connected to ours

Winter

Where the hope of tomorrow

Springs forth in our hearts

Longing for the sun to shine

The snow to melt

And life to spring forth again

For grey to give way to greens, pinks, yellows, and blues

The earth waking from its slumber

Wiping away the sleep from its eyes

Winter

We take stock of everything internal

Deep calling unto deep

Before we rise and dance again

With life anew

Teach Me

Teach me how to love you

Through that tangled path

Guide my hand

And guide my heart

Beyond our looming past

Teach me how to listen

Beyond these fears within

Invading thoughts

Be still my heart

And hear the voice of him

Teach me how to know you

Through all your silent words

That boy inside

Who likes to hide

Like a knight without his sword

Teach me how to see you

In light more than in dark

To uphold high

The man inside

And show him his own spark

Yes, teach me how to love you

Please show me the way

I hope, I must

Do dare to trust

Your heart holds mine ablaze

Try

Try

Try not to cry

Try not to scream your want to the wind

No one will hear

No one will rescue you

For they are too busy enjoying

Their life

To take notice of yours

Try

Try not to care

Try not to wish someone would need you

Would see you

Would hold you like you so dearly crave

Because their own responsibilities

Are more important

As they should be

Try

Try not to want

Try not to need anything outside of your own lack

And ensure to muster up the energy

To save your own life

Instead of saving others

Try

Try to be grateful

Try to give thinks for the life you have had

And the wonderful possibilities of the future

No matter how lonely

It seems

Try

Try to find peace

Try to deep reach within and find the meaning you came to earth for

Believe not the lie that your life will be

Magically transformed into

Bliss in the arms of another

For when they leave then your bliss leaves with them

Try

Try not to give up

Try not to think that this life would be better without you

As if doing so

Would be some sort of vengeance against your circumstances

Life will go on without you and your name will be forgotten like the billions of the past.

Try

No matter what, try

No one can do that for you

The Longest Nights

Tears stain my pillow

As every cell of me aches to

Feel you near me

Hear you breathing

Know you are there

But I know you need the space

You need see how you feel

I have learned my lesson

Long ago

That a man needs time to

Seek his heart

Walk his path

To rescue his future from

His past

And getting in the way of that

Leaves you left in the mud

Bleeding

I must return to Love

While I wait

As I cannot give what I

Have not cultivated in myself

First

In the longest nights

Where sleep evades this

Tired soul

Taught

I’ve learned to stay silent.

That no matter the pain and fear inside, they are only my own.

I’ve learned to stay silent.

That the truth and the answers to unspoken questions would be revealed.

I’ve learned to stay silent.

At the bedside while love helplessly faded before my eyes.

I’ve learned to stay silent.

When rage fills the house and one sound would turn it towards your direction.

I’ve learned to say silent.

So much is said when one does not speak.

I’ve learned to stay silent.

This world taught me that it is best to be so.

I Miss

The way my soul settled on that

Very first date

The instant we hugged and felt tangible grace

The northern lights floating from

Five feet above

The way that we knew this was of

Divine love

How people would sigh whenever we sang

Or told us our love was an undeniable thing

The way you held space as my mind and heart raged

With words pouring forth as of just freed from a cage

How your love inspired me to creatively explore

How your belief in me helped me to soon become more

That I could speak my mind thought we ’oft disagreed

And no matter my rage your love strongly held me

Your soft, loving hands and your wise, gentle heart

And the way that you remained until death so us part

Beloved, I’m thankful that through all we went through

We always loved each other from the bottom of our shoe

In rememberance of my husband Mark Withey

Dream of Dawn

Silence, an old friend

Come to play in the dark

Shadow puppets against the bed frame

Memories of years gone by

Like sands in an hour glass

Dancing with my inner thoughts

Like connecting the

Chaotic constellations

With each step

Losing my way back to reality

Where the minutes become liquid

Like melted wax on an alters candle

I should be used to this by now

These walls echoing Alexa with

Digitized thunderstorms to

Drown out the single heartbeat

Calling out to the void

With no answer in return

This soul sewn together

Loosely

With each shallow breath

Praying sleep calls soon as

To sleep the waking giant

Within

Caught between twilights I

Dream of the Dawn

Be Home

Whether here or there

Bed or brook

Land or sky

Old or young

Near or far

Sick or in health

Together or alone

Be home

Folding Into Dawn

Breathe

In

Out

Feel the warm moisture

Fill your lungs

Focus

Still you thoughts

When the world seems

To be falling apart around you

Breathe

And realize the gift it is

That Source once

Kissed it’s creation

Bringing life where there

Was none

Light from darkness

Form from void

Movement, in all its precious forms

Breathe

Feel the here

Now

And know it is all okay

It always was

It always will be

Breathe

In...Out...

Slowly

In this moment

In the stillness

In this darkness

Folding into Dawn

Breathe and give thanks

Unplug

Question everything

What you think

What you experience

What you consume

What the outside world says

Connect to everything

The earth

The space around you

Friends

Self

Unplug and live
