Write about strength. Seize this word and run with it, wherever it takes you.

Weary

We are not to look at love as bank withdraws or deposits. We shouldn’t keep tabs of weights carried, but marriage is not supposed to be this heavy.

How cliché

I have carried you through years. They say bitterness causes cancer.

Probably.

We joke we are too stubborn to cry defeat.

I am the stronger one. I know. I carried you through the addictions, through the madness. I’ve tolerated Sophia, your cross-dressing twin. I have somehow made it through the swinger phase.

I do not complain about the vacations ruined. I am to blame for believing in mirages.

But I am out of strength. And I am too tired for divorce.
