Challenge
We lost a lot with the passing of Chris Cornell. To many, he was a mentor, a brilliant writer; an inimitable voice. Until June 30th, this challenge is for the friends and fans to write their stories, poems, tributes: anything about him. We will be putting together a book for the Cornell family, of the posts entered, as well as making copies available for purchase, donating all proceeds to suicide prevention. In partnership with Seattle Refined, the most shared post will be read on air, and posted on seattlerefined.com.

Infinite Black Hole

When a beautiful thing drifts away we often forget it's importance, but when a beautiful thing dies we are left with intangible love.

Suspecting the cause of such devastation and its pain we all share, is nothing compared to the emotionally charged and driven musical godsend we've come to love.

Ye though he walks through the black hole with the sun shining down upon him, may he at last rest his weary wings so that we may find faith and inspiration in this heavenly creature we call Chris Cornell.

God and the Firefighter

God does not hear the baby crying.

God does not see the baby dying.

God does not hear or see.

God does not feel a mother's emotions.

God does not taste the tears on her cheeks.

God does not feel or taste.

God does not smell the single flower a child gives to his mother.

God does not smell.

The tone sounds and a house is on fire.

The Firefighter hears the baby crying.

The Firefighter risks her life to save the baby from dying.

The Firefighter feels the mother's emotions as she hands her baby over.

The Firefighter see's the tears dry up as she kisses her baby.

"Here you go ma'am." the Firefighter hands the mother a single flower.

"It was right next to your baby."

The mother takes the flower and smiles.  In that instant, the greatest memory floods the mother with tears of joy.

A single flower can heal an emotion.

A Firefighter is often God.
