Purgatory

The march of souls starts

With the ringing of a bell.

The march of lost souls,

Headed now to hell.

They look towards their brothers,

Stumbling ahead.

They look towards their mothers,

All of which are dead.

I turn towards the chasm,

To the bridge that we crossed.

To behold wandering children,

All of which are lost.

I look towards the future,

To the rocking of a boat.

One to carry us to suffering,

One to take away our hope.

In the time that follows,

How much time I scarcely know,

We are sat down together,

For eternity to row.

I cry out in anguish,

And a voice growls my name,

"You can leave anytime,

Or choose more of the same."

With haste I arise,

And jump into the sea.

As I sink, the boat fading,

In the dark, only me.

All at once I can breath,

And a light fills the air.

Happiness engulfs me,

Feel it?! Do I dare?!

I strive to keep on walking,

This darkness that I bear.

I dread to return,

To be a pris'ner there.

Every now and again,

A voice calls my name,

"You can leave anytime,

Or choose more of the same."

Nothing New

There is pain in every culture,

There is a story in each tear.

We are different, we are separate,

Yet we all travel here.

The same struggle in humanity.

War

Eloquent, though it was,

To convince men to die,

When upon the field,

We knew the words were lies.

The enemy we found,

Were people just like us.

That in eloquence,

Put their foolish trust.

As I came to another,

A man in the field.

We looked upon the ground,

To the people that we'd killed.

I looked into his eyes,

And gasped at what I found.

He believed he fought for good,

His reasons, morals, sound!

We looked across the valley,

At bodies, broken, maimed.

It was then that I realized,

We all bleed the same.

When You Were Gone

What I missed most?

Not your touch,

Nor the sparks of our lips pressed close.

But the sound of your laughter,

Mixed with my own.

The sound of home.

Changes

Silence.

Silence, except for the the tick of computer keys.

Silence, save for the weeping of another day.

Silence, except for the scratch of a pen.

Laughter.

Laughter, words of excitement.

Laughter, expressions of love.

Laughter, the sweetness of soft kisses.

Words.

Words, spoken in anger.

Words, spoken in love.

Words, spoken in the truest form of affection.

Change.

Change, from silence.

Change, to laughter.

Change, in words spoken.

Sprawling hordes of People,

All under Repair.

Each notices the Others,

Yet the ground holds their Stare.s

Without connection, such are the Eternities

Genie

You gave me my wish

But as I stayed in this bliss

My soul is stolen,

Slowly, ever so slowly,

To feed the dream, unaware.
