Myriads of words and phrases -

                       floating through

                                                the Voids that fill my mind

- in search of 

                   a 

                                 place 

                                                      to 

                                                                         fall.

I kissed your lips and whispered to your soul

and for a moment -

time froze.

You froze.

I tried to rekindle warmth through parted lips -

fingertips on hips.

Each touch leaving my limbs frostbitten -

Medusa’s kiss.

The more I gave - the more you took.

I kissed your lips and tried to set ablaze your soul

and in an instant -

I froze.

A simple warning

etched into your back -

had I read -

would have cautioned me to

walk away instead:

“Do Not Resuscitate”

Come back.

I promise

              I'll do

                       better at

                                    falling 

                                                  apart.
