New Friend

It was an incredibly dull day to begin with as I made my usual rounds amongst the shrubs and rubble of my worn out home until the moment I saw it. I had just turned the corner of a familiar brick wall, to something both terrifying and inviting, a strange figure that I had never seen before. Immediately it opened its mouth and spewed out a number of tones, pitches and clicks that I had never heard before. I sat and listened intently trying to make sense of the noise, while the creature fixed its gaze right at me. I think that I should have been scared, but I wasn't, I couldn't believe it but the gaze drew me in closer and closer. As I approached, a most wonderful smell filled the air, it was so thick that I could almost taste it, the source was in the clutches of the strange figures long, skinny, bare appendages. To my surprise it reached out unveiling a irresistible token that looked unlike anything I had ever seen. It appeared as if the creature was presenting it to me as a gift, boldly I reached out and took it. It was edible! As I chewed, I could feel the hair on my head, all the way down my back begin to rise, I also felt a warmness toward this figure that I had just met, I wanted to be it's friend.  And that was just the beginning.
