That familiar smile and gaze

Like old lover reacquants me

To this forsaken so-called charm;

Rousing long buried wounds

Ravaging my surreal bliss.

Please spare those flattery,

For all chants and spells are futile.

I'll leave you in duet with silly romance

While I dance with oblivion.

Blending in peace with the shadows.

No more wrong nor right

All's done, no more fight. 

No more fear, no pain

Feigning peace in vain. 

But in the deep dark

Love and truth still spark

Whispering, breathing

Life into her being. 

You came along uninvited

A distraction to my solitude,

An amusement and a puzzlement

To my once content spirit.

You are my joy and fear

My desire and repulsion,

Ironies in such sweet smile

What will I do with you?

A jester who is out of place,

With flashy yet unnoticed face.

Been spited for being rowdy,

Unseen for whom she is truly.

Here I stand a misplaced recluse.

Laughs and frolics in my misuse.

Struggling to hush this roaring scream

In a lost haven from a gleam.

Floating, drifting alone

Amid the sea of friendly faces,

Unfeeling, unknowing,

Proceeding, just moving;

Waiting til it wanes

This painful numbness

That shuts me into tearless weeping.
