A coldness

creeping inside

frozing my limbs,

frozing my mind.

An emptiness

in place of my heart,

something is missing

nothing is right.

My world is greying

the colors are fleeing

laughter eludes me

I'm not really seeing.

They're talking,

can't hear any words

just sounds, no meaning

do i have to respond?

I'm living

or at least I pretend

was it always like this?

Is it ever going to end?

I look at the stars

how brilliant they seem

a sea of lights floating

worlds above me.

I gaze them every night

can't help but wonder if

sometimes they stop shining

and gaze upon me.

Do they look at skies

full of us at nights

try to count us all

lose count after a while?

Couples are constelations

cities galaxies whole.

Do they wish they were amongst us

in our own world?

Do they make wishes

when someone dies,

study our movements

to determirne their time?

Light years between us

our lights synchronized

Do they go stargazing

at humans in skies?

I carved out my heart

to stop its ache

I held it in my hand

and watched its shape

But the pain didn't stop

the void consumed me

I dropped it on the floor

like glass it shattered

I tried to put the pieces back

but most were missing

I was left with blooded hands

and a heart half-finished

I pretend i'm okay

but i'm not the same

i wish I'd been strong enough

to stand its ache

Midnight

And the whispers begin

The darkness extends

Births shadows from within

Quiet cries echo in the halls

Deranged laughter

From somewhere above

Shards of light

Stab the room

It bleeds nightmares

That grow under the moon

Open windows

Curtains blown

An invite

To every unborn

The doors close

We are locked inside

So many guests

None of which are alive

It's now after midnight

The horrors are having fun

And once they begin

They don't want to stop

These violent delights

Have violent ends

Blood calls to blood

It knows no friend

It spreads like fire

Every thought it devours

Until in the end

It knows no bounds

Seduce our mind

Appeal to our primal selves

Just instinct,no logic

Just red,no clear head

It brings just destruction

A cycle with no end.

We know we should stop

But in truth we can't

Violence is addictive

And we like the pain

We lie for it

We beg for it

We even pay

We are now its slaves

We can't quit the game

You see pain is real

In a world full of fakes

This is its appeal

And all that it takes.

Blue skies

Cities of glass

Islands that fly

Deserts of metal scraps

Power immense

Humans now hold

The elements of earth

Have in control

There's a force

That maintains peace

That's where I am

Behind the scenes

Power plays

Secrets so very dark

Our fate decide

I have to act

Dark rooms

Big dreams

Hopes born

By little sleep

I see a world

It doesn't exist

Its absence hurts

Like it was real

Closed doors

Hushed cries

Nobody knows

I am alive

Hours passed

I am still there

Where I am alone

Dawn comes,beware

Silence fills

My every thought

Time to go

Goodbye my world

Trapped

Not by bars,by words

Weakened

Not by people,by thoughts

Scared

Of everything and all

Hiding

Behind my invisible wall

Excuses

My permanent friend

Delaying

Everything to no end

Pausing

Life all the time

Wasting

Moments my biggest crime

I've won

Let's hear the applause

I'll try and fix the world

Surely though I'll fail

'Cause that's not

What they want

I push everything down

But I ran out of space

I can feel them building up

A cataclysmic wave

I've barricated the doors

And cemented the locks

But they still found a way

To slip from the cracks

Now I'm a mess

No idea how to stop

The waves keep crushing

I lay for hours on the floor
