Orange

A heart's beat pumps it

through veins so throbbing and sweet

Cold blood; what am I?

Synchronization

That moment when you walk across a street, only to notice the car splashing a puddle where you stood 6 seconds before. Allys on this path look like raw meat; the seamstres at the dry cleaners, bus driver, a random blackbird that catches you eye. All guides, all light points on the glowing web that weaves this illusion of reality. A dozen times I've asked myself, and a dozen times I've forgotten. Relax and go with the flow.

Midnight’s Day

Shadows slumber as the sun goes down

and all the lights, around, around

go soft. And dark that fills the night

creates the chill and fever's fright

descends through garden walls and grain

the demons dance and rise again

and in the blur of dusk is drawn

a dew settles on my grassy lawn

and spiders creep out, to test their spun

and woven harness for what's to come

sky it fades to waning blue

as talons sharp and ruddy hue

give hoot! and who? who, who, who, whoooo?

a heart beats fast, the silence knew

from unseeming clouds, it does appear

that milky orb so bright and dear

it lights the ghoulish footprints in the dirt

for scramble now, from house to yurt

these impish fiends, that dance and delight

for those that love the crisp cool night

can find their joy and laugh and play

midnight's shadow is their midday

and all night long they smile and sing

while the world's asleep till morning's ring

Time

Ravaged push, pulled

Her hair

And slowly arched her back
