Birds soar along side
globes of air lifting effortlessly
her hopes and dreams toward
the setting sun glowing
red and gold on
calm waters...
Weighted by reality
her toes dip
variably
into the reflective waters below

A single light casts
onto the incandescent
graveyard
of the un-ignitable

Electric fairy lights danced
on darkened eyes
Whimsical fantasies of
awakenings
extinguished by
recognition
of the permanence
of sheep-coma

Masquerade
Your object of desire
on the opposite side
of the door...
Holds the titanium
lock
Closed
Kicking in time to the
ticking in her mind
the wake carries away
all her doubts
You're under the wood
table... boogeyman still sees you
Stand up and scare him
Once oppressed by flesh
of worldly fashions
she is an unyielding
skull...
Free
From the delicate palm of
her weary-struck hand she
lightly blows feathered
fantasies... setting them free
in an ambitious world
creating space in her
mind for less fancy
verities of her still-
radiant
true-self
