Do you have a small /trivial/ opinion that you would like to share? I'm looking for things like 'cereal comes after milk' or other opinions that won't upset anyone. If anyone gets overly political or even borderline offensive, it will not be tolerated, so please be mindful of what you post. Bonus points if you have an argument that sways me to your side or makes me think! Tag me, and please be respectful. Thanks!

Wednesday

If you don´t say Wed-Nez-Day in your head every time you write Wednesday, then you and I probably don´t get along very well.

My 3 AM, No-Sleep Thoughts

Okay, so I have a few things to say.

1) All mermaids have six-packs because they literally swim dolphin kick, ALL THE TIME.

2) There are days when you just need to lay down in bed and read shoujo manga.

3) THE EMOS CAN READ ROMANCE NOVELS TOO SO STOP JUDGING ME

and lastly,

4) It’s lowkey always sad boi hours.

Sticky

Macaroni and cheese tastes better reheated the next day rather than right after you cook it. Why? Because the cheese sauce thickens up and makes it really cheesy.

Rainbow Baby Goldfish

Many of you have enjoyed the delicious goldfish snack, made by Pepperidge farm. They come in all flavors and many sizes, but while there are rainbow goldfish, and there are baby goldfish, there are no rainbow baby goldfish.

There needs to be rainbow baby goldfish.

Thoughts and Things

The older the house

The better, but

A newer car is best.

My opinions

Never matter, so

I’ll get more off my chest.

Hotter over colder

But sleeping with a fan

Helps me rest

I like all types of coffee

Although it’s Dunkin’

If I’m pressed

Dandelions are not weeds

They’re the yard

Getting dressed

And I’d rather wear

A whole coat instead

Of a puffy vest

Socks over slippers

Though never under blankets

My feet feel stressed

Empty playgrounds are sad

But a school closed for summer

Is super blessed

This is addicting

I won’t pretend but

This is the last one left to profess

I’d rather play checkers

Than a single game

Of chess

Hear Me Out

This might actually be a pretty controversial opinion on a site like this, but just hear me out.

If at all possible, I will watch the show or movie before reading the book. I know that's almost blasphemy in the larger world of reading enthusiasts, but I find the whole process way more enjoyable this way. Let me explain why:

Most people who read regularly will agree that the book is better than the show or movie at least 90% of the time. Some swear that the book is always better, and I'm not far off that. As such, if I read a book that I love and then find out that there's a movie coming out in the near future, my heart sinks. I'd love to be in this world a little more, but I know the movie is going to disappoint me. The book is always more in-depth, offering more scenes and character development. Plus, the actors never look like the characters I imagined, no matter how accurate casting is. A movie can be a beautiful love letter to the author's creation, but it never encompasses the whole worth of the art because writing is dependent on both the author's intentions and the reader's interpretations. A movie, on the other hand, is much more heavily guided by the screenwriter and director, leaving the audience little to no room for speculation. Knowing that, I very rarely feel motivated to spend my time and money attending a movie that will only leave me dissatisfied.

But consider the opposite! If you watch that movie, love it, and then find out it was based on a book, you can now dive even deeper into the world that has sucked you in. You'll learn more about your favorite characters, understand their thought processes better, and be able to refer to the scenes and faces you already have in your head from the movie. Your experience is enhanced, rather than detrimented!

Believe me, I've done it both ways. I watched the first season of The 100 on Netflix before I even knew there was a book series. Once I found out, I bought the books, blew through them in like three days, and was astounded by how different (and how much better) the books were. When the second season of the show was released, I jumped right on it, more excited than ever to see everything I had read put onto the screen in front of me. Except, after reading the books and knowing how the world should work with these characters I knew so well, seeing the seemingly random direction the plot of the show took drove me nuts. I couldn't make it through season two, and I've never gone back to the show. Which is really a shame, as I'm sure I would have loved it all if it had been finished before I picked up the books.

TL;DR: Movies make really good book trailers.

ER Wait...the Longer the Better

Hear me out. When you’re a patient checking in to the ER, you WANT to be the last patient seen by a doctor. Here’s why:

The ER is not a first-come-first-serve clinic. Nurses call patients up for initial assessment (triage) and assigning a room based on acuity, or severity of potential diagnosis...in franker terms, how worried they are about your symptoms pointing to an immediate life-or-death situation. That means even if you came in before someone else, if they go first, it means doctors & nurses are more worried about what’s going on with that person more than you (no offense). The #1 question is not how serious your medical problem is but whether or not it’s a fatal one. The further down you are on their priority list, the less likely it’s a life-or-death issue.

And you don’t want to have a life-or-death issue.

So if you come in with an injured toe, and you’re waiting an hour to see a doctor, don’t consider that a bad thing. Just breathe, because the guy who came in behind you may not be able to.

I can’t spell

Steamed broccoli is a monstrosity. It’s limp, nasty, and a waste of perfectly good broccoli.

condiments are good.

they are good by themselves.

they are good on other food.

but three moons if you put ranch on those mashed potatoes one more time im going to flip this lunch table

The Happy House Wife

Who in carnation came up with that term? "The happy house wife." Do you really think she's happy doing all of that housework, cooking, cleaning, piles of laundry, and outside work too. There is nothing a housewife can't do. She's many things and a Stepford Wife is a dream that a men wants his wife to be. Who loves waiting on him, doing everything with a smile, and no complaint. "I'm just a happy housewife: You think." The only time you'll see her smile is on TV. But in real life that smile is no where to be found. This is too much housework for one woman to bear and if she has more than one child. The work is tripple, double that, and some more. "So, do you really think she's happy? Are you sure." She would love to look like all of those glamorous housewives acting on tv. Acting like it's nice being "a happy housewife" smiling doing all the latest choirs. Not in real life. "The happy housewife never gets paid", and her hair is always frayed. She looks like a ragamuffin, exhausted, and tired. The happy house wife is not so happy. :(
