Sci fi first person hook
So there I was, scanning through the destruction, the pile of debris that used to be home. I could feel my heart beat through my entire body like I had swallowed a ticking time bomb. The part that really shattered my soul though, is the fact that this all happened because of me.
Masks
So there I was, stabbing the Brits with my cutlass and avoiding the odd bullet when I saw my Captain's mask slip off. Captain normally keeps his face covered by a black cloth which was odd, but as crew members we never questioned, especially when he had his silver dagger at our throats. However, in the middle of a parry Captain's mask fell off and I realized, he was a she.
It’s the Sudden Stop That Kills Ya
So there I was, fallin’ through the sky, wishin’ I’d put on my parachute as the pilot asked, but thinkin’ I’d be macho (and impress my girlfriend) by frolicking around the airplane chute-less and shirtless. I’ve done dumber things, though not recently. I had one chance to survive, one in a million, but when that’s all ya got, that’s what ya do—so I did.
