Weissnichtwo is a word that means 'an indefinite, unknown, or imaginary place'.

A long time ago, I used to participate in spelling bees often and sometimes happened to do well (surprise lol). When studying international words, I distinctly remember my sister playing this word (yes, playing, not saying) through an online dictionary and just giving her an utterly blank stare followed by multiple assertions of "are you serious", "what the heck is that", "are you sure that's right" and so on. In order to draw some context as to why I was so lost, let me explain a little. You may be able to tell already, but weissnichtwo is a German word, so 'w' will be pronounced with an English 'v', and 'ch' with an English 'kh'. Transliterated, it would be veissnikhtvo, or if you'd like to intensify that transileration, vais-nikht-voo. Fun, right?

In any case, my initial disdain for the word was replaced by a gentle adoration after I decided to look it up ages after the event. Upon finding the whimsical and relevant definition above, I began to feel intensely amused by the sheer contrast between the sound of the word and its meaning before ultimately loving it for the previously empty niche in my vocabulary that it had fulfilled.

After all, we all have a plethora of weissnichtwos we haunt, each with an intrinsically indefinite scope and deep mystery which ultimately lets us explore for hours on end in some land or another. Moreover, they deserve a name of equal mystique and wonder to characterize them.

Neat, right?

Polysyllabic, or having to do with long words.

Sesquipedalian is onomonopoetic,

Just as onomonopoetic is sesquipedalian.

You are a sesquipedalianist if you tend toward longer lengths in your lingo.

A toast to the verbose even though we all know that size doesn't matter.

Long winded is also attributed to the sesquipedalian tendency so in the interest of avoiding being that I'll end this definitions exposition henceforth!

I’m like an accidental bystander that just so happens to be standing on life’s writing highway, looking around, thumbing a ride, and waiting for a driver to pick me up. I’m word traveling, from state-to-state in my mind, and taking a geographical tour to imaginary places. This is why I like the word “coincidence” and the way it plays in my perception of things. The words of the story I’m writing are a coincidental driving force in my traveling life. I’m merely a passenger, accepting a ride, and watching the road unfold. I notice that the road to every coincidence leads to a twist of fate in the words that write the stories. It’s by sheer luck and good fortune that the driver has a decent set of wheels to take my writing home. I notice that the driver lives on a common street and speaks the same languege I do. It’s great to know there are good wordsmith drivers on the lookout for those of us who need a lift. There are readable speed limit signs on every highway and time takes its own sweet time. It’s purely by chance that I’m ever even on the road.

The dictionary says that a “coincidence” is a “striking occurrence of two or more events at one time apparently by mere chance.”

beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience

I guess I just like the idea that there is stuff beyond me.

Objects and beings and beauty that I cannot begin to comprehend.

My mind, limited by its humanity.

I like the way it rolls of the tongue

and off the corners of my consciousness.

I like the way it makes my toes grow cold

as my mind careens forward, trying to catch up

to something, anything, that I will never know

Oddly, I like how it makes me competitive

I like how it makes me want to leave my mark

despite how small this world might be

despite how insignificant I am, despite, despite, despite

Maybe I just like the way it makes me hope

for new sciences to be discovered,

new solutions for the pain and sadness that consume our

brief little lives.

2- intoxicated or stupefied especially with drink

I was so besotted that I might as well have been besotted.

I think this word is so fun to say because of how it sounds so dramatic but maybe that’s just the way I say it. I don't know if you were looking for some deeper explanation of why I like this word but this is all I've got.

Oxymoron is one of my favorites. It opens the doors to humor.. "What idiot named the jumbo shrimp?"

Oxymorons can be seriously funny surprising us in random order.

It allows poetic insight.."a small giant" "Tell me again that truthful lie."

"The parched ocean demanded more lives."

Oh the possibilities for a writer.

- the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way

- the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for

I like this word:

First, because of how it looks and sounds. I don't know why some arrangements of letters seem more aesthetic to me, but they do.

Second, because of its meaning. Isn't it one of the best feeling when something good happen without expecting it?
