Mislead

They peer around rundown street corners,

Luring you into the darkness

With a honey smile, all sweet

And speaking of sacred things

Never does it show the filth underneath

They banter back and forth,

Sharing the most intimate of stories

The sound of joyful laughter,

Acting as an impeccable cover

Never is the festering malice heard

They shine on the stage,

Glimmering like polished diamonds

They shine with such radiance,

Exuding sheer brilliance

Never do the fans see the ugliness within

Everyday, in different shapes and forms,

Ill intentions exist in seemingly simple ways

An innocent smile, a harmless notion, a casual suggestion,

Is all it takes

Never do we see the deception coming

Steel // (need a powerful blow, won’t bend— only shatter. Need a heart of golden diamond)

There's a beat in my nerves

dragon’s breath, kisses of fire

blazing in my heart. I’m made of steel.

Sharp against the edges. Heavy.

can you hold the weight?

(on your knees, crawling through burning flowers.. your shoulders are dropping down)

can you feel the cut edge?

(prickle of blood, pain. let me see beneath the layer of your skin)

There’s a beat in my nerves

dragon’s blood running through my veins. Fire away at my skin, golden scales &

your words

break

apart.

can you break through?

(pierce through my armour & touch my bare skin and— shatter this steel heart)

Workshop

Some say they are for toys,

Some say they are for writing.

Workshops are meant to create beautiful things,

They test new ideas at these workshops,

Developing new projects.

When one piece doesn’t fit quite right,

We throw it out,

And replace it with a new piece.

We try going blonde,

They hate it,

So,

WE hate it,

And we dye our hair a different color.

We constantly FIX ourselves,

MAINTAIN ourselves,

Find the BEST version that’s

LOVED

By everyone.

Hopefully,

We learn to love that version as well.

My word is Tragic

Friends are bad

They make me feel sad

Don’t ask why

She was very hot

I thought I had a spot

In her heart maybe

I gave her a rose

She blushed from head to her toes

It was really cute

Then her friends asked me

“Do you like her? hee hee hee”

What could I say?

I told them, “Um, no”

They smiled, and I thought, “Uh oh,

They’re going to tell her!”

I wrote her a note

That note is now my scapegoat

Second thoughts are bad

She won’t talk to me

My life is sad now. Whopee!

That’s my love life.

THE END

My Word is Offset

Quirky alignments

And strange positions

Make my world beguiling

It sits to the right

And slightly above

Keeping my world rolling

Friendly

We wake up.

We go about our day.

But do we do it right?

Someone needed a hair tie, and you ignored them.

You herd someone crying, and you left them.

You made cookies, and didn't share.

This is NOT friendly.

Your day should go more like this.

Someone needs a hair tie.

You give them one.

Someone was crying in the bathroom.

You consoled them.

You make cookies, and you gave them out at work.

This is friendly.

This is kind.
