Set a time limit of 6 minutes for your initial independent writes, then combine the two efforts into another longer poem using all the lines of the two individual writes. F•A•M•I•L•Y

It’s my own big team,

Invisibly holding my back,

Protecting my heart,

With supportive stacks.

My own united team,

Under one roof,

Life would seem,

Quite impossible without this beam.

I respect my family,

Something not really granted.

For I see the lonely,

And abandoned.

Crying at some people’s greed,

I can only reassure,

That the modern world is a century,

With the facility,

Of a global world.

I am your friend,

And you can be mine.

Family

All from one branch

Then soon new tiny branches extend & form as a part of the ever growing family tree

Family

Always there for one another

Through thick ’nd thin

Family

May the laughter, joys and endless loads of comfort never cease

Family

Giggling & having loads of fun together

One group that have an unbreakable bond

Family

Excitement comes along when there is a new baby to join the throng

Family

Not even distance can ever separate this tight knit group of folks

Family

It’s where one’s heart first learns to love

Cell

You hold the world,

my friends,

people I do business with,

and countless others.

(I am not my Self—

this selfie)

You hold the time,

set the date,

play upon the Internet,

even count the seconds

when I jog or walk.

you fit perfectly wherever I go

—this selfie

trapped inside

a case I've kept

filed so close

to the vest—

You always make sure

I get my messages

and never ask for anything,

but occasional juice now and then.

You hold the world,

and I clutched

with clenched

fists the bars

of my cell—

A Second Collaboration

Time Flies By

The essence of time,

ticking.

A holder of thoughts,

memories stored by the seconds,

remembered minute by minute.

Hour by hour images come forth,

days to think of what if’s,

weeks to plan the what will be.

Months after to decide,

if the years past,

those years to come;

if anything is really worth the effort.

Tick-tock,

hands go round the clock.

Time, flies by.

We laugh, we sigh,

privately we cry.

One day we die.

Is it really worth the effort.

Tick-Tock,

hands round the face of the clock.

Time zips by as to remind—

we've lived, laughed, loved, cried,

sighed,

and run ourselves out of Time

Days of "what if" images—

week by week planned out,

month over month to decide,

if years past and years to come,

will have been worth the whirlwind fun.

A Light Storm

We will be the same age under the same new moon

When the adroit hands of darkness

colors our life

and sharpens our eyes

with what is not seen

and silver outlines.

...29.5 days so cycles the moon

through each blessed phase....

as we race to the New

and swing from the Crescent

to bask in the Full....

Your breadth and my depth will help

one to see...

And the light brightens your eyes. . . And your shadow cools

We wrap up all demensions

Cascaded in imagination previously jingling in pockets. . The light of broken rules

I exhaled the Shade

You inhaled the Light

We're spinning still...

on Opposite sides

of the Orb of Night...

And ponder the colors made;

blue, white and grey

Yes. Pulled by the magnetism of our poles

Together our words clash . Streaming through hand forged worm holes

To cause the world to spin, along with eyes

Us. The eyes of the storm that blows through

Eye opening and recycling the collection

A New Moon

Reshuffling the deck

with an ace in the hole.

An eye of coal

waiting to be lit

by day

and gold
