Like the color of dread,

                                 You pick lilies instead.

Violets of blue

                             weep faithful, jilted dew.

Roses are red

                   like wounds, words left unsaid.

Violets, e’er blue,

                           never told you they knew.

                       blooming blood in our bed.

rose are red

The heart is broken

and so it bled

violets are blue

like bruises you gave me

reminders of you

flowers are mauve

lilac scented

placed on my grave

Roses are red,

like the blood from your head.

Violets are blue;

yeah, I killed you.

Roses are red

and now you're dead.

Violets are blue,

but I am, too.

Roses are red

and I wonder, should I have just maimed you, instead?

Violets are blue

and it's too late for a re-do.

Roses are red

Like the blood that you bled

Violets are blue

Like the veins cut right through

Roses are red

And off went your head

Violets are blue

And your organs were strewn 

Roses are red 

And now you are dead 

Violets are blue 

Because I killed you

And so are the dead

That's not always true.
