Challenge Ended
Create a metered poem having to do with life and death. Use #Lopmeter
The poem should be metered by syllables, starting with a 10 syllable line then 9 syllables on the next line, and so on down to 1 syllable. The 2nd verse should start with a 9 syllable line and decrease the number of syllables per line by one.* Continue doing this until you have written 10 verses. The last two verses should look like this example. "Endless/Life , Death" The word at the end of every odd verse should be Death, and the word at the end of every even verse should be Life. *Format as follows (Syllable Count) 10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/Life, 9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/Death, 8/7/6... ... 2/Life, Death.

Example

This is simply an example for you,

So therefore you may compose your words.

These verses can be sort of long,

But they quickly shorten too.

Syllables are what count,

Your fingers you use.

Slowly writing,

Enjoyment,

All your

Life.

Now you understand what I require.

These shortening verses go fast,

The first few lines may be hard,

But not as difficult,

As the end of it.

Those these lines pass,

And decay,

Empty

Death.

I now realize I must finish,

This lop-metered poetry.

for your pleasure, I will

Now and forever,

Write and write till

my last breath.

As is

Life.

I moderately wish that,

I knew how to format,

on this prose website.

Center fitting

I prefer.

Alas

Death

Rhyming is not needed,

I am conceded

This is easy,

Quite breezy.

Such strife,

Life

Five more verses now,

Time must allow

Me to say,

Go for

Death.

Freedom is nice

in this form,

Learn it

Life.

End is near

Somewhat

Death.

Make sense?

Life.

Death.
