I got this idea from a poetry workshop I went to yesterday: Write a poem about what your words do. "My words change" or "My words never lie" for example. Make it as creative as you want! And tag me @LiberalPoet.

Words are what they do

Writing is a journey

on which when I commence,

words can unsheathe

or masquerade suspense.

Words bleed on the page

as emotions get a face;

fighting fierce battles,

or displaying plain grace.

When the world's an anathema,

words are the best friend;

as when the speaking gets tough,

they're truly a godsend.

Word Pearls

Words squeeze through

a diamond cut sky

cradle you in my palm

        whirling, swirling, curling, twirling

Words fly on by

on wings of birds ,

unfolding you in my dreams

        whirling, swirling, curling, twirling

Burgundy broiling words bleeding

awakening every morning to sketch

the clouds with cotton puffs

lifting the sky nigh so high in sighs

        whirling, swirling, curling, twirling

Kaleidoscope of colors painted

in your mind on ribbons of silk

catching the silver drizzles of rain

the color of words dyed passion red

the tint of crimson bleeding on face

        whirling, swirling, curling, twirling

Untangling nooses around trapped neck

whispered phrases in ancient chants

words have rhythmic minds of their own

awakening deep, resounding thoughts

vapors of cleansing spray – pure freedom

pearls of words open up the gift of soul

        whirling, swirling, curling, twirling

My Words are everything

My Words are,

my oxygen, my food, and my water.

My words are,

my friend, my husband, my daughter.

My words are,

my strength, my courage, and my power.

My words are,

my life, my day, my hour.

My words are,

my taste, my sight and my smell.

My words are,

my life, my heaven, my hell.

My words are,

my gift, my love and my affection.

My words are,

my shelter, my home, my protection.

My words are,

my laughter, my joy and my pride.

My words are,

my tears, my guilt, my guide.

My words are,

my weapons, my tools and my vice.

My words,

are my gift, my cost and my price.

Marching

My words are like soldiers,

  marching ever forward,

    charging to do battle

      with your emotions.

They throw a bayonet at your fears,

launch a grenade at your worries.

My words are like repeating rifles,

pounding into you until you bleed

      feelings --

 never mind the whites of your eyes;

my words want to see the

       tears of your eyes.

My words

My words soar

Go places I've never dared

My words fly

Right off the page

And into the night sky

A wish

My words are inspiration.

My words touch others hearts.

My words are moving.

At least I hope...

My Words

My words are mine and no one else’s

Unique and instantaneous

About love pain and the miscellaneous

My words can paint pictures

Some beautiful and angelic

Others spiteful and schizophrenic

My words can bear weight

They can be heavy and win a fight

Fragile like a candle on a stormy night

My words can be this and that

They can be gentle and fun

Or murderous like a bullet shot from a gun

My words can be a fairy tale

Or a whispered truth needing to be set free

Maybe a scream trapped deep inside of me

My words are sometimes all that I have

They are my talent my pride

My Jekyll and my Hyde

my words

reach inside

and pull at the heartstrings

play on paper like a song

evoke feelings meant to be kept a sercert

they unravel down the page

and

they lock unto your heart

and keep you comfort in the dark

they sing hymmns

of misery

they wither through your bones

and reach your lips and cause you to sing the same notes

of hope and hopelessness

they push you down to the surface

and cause you to grapple with logic

cause you to question my decisons

scream at me like your reader

and I am the character

yelling with pleas of no

my words bleed

blood

tears

and pain

posionous dipped daggers prepared to kill

and attack and leave you for dead

hand built coffin

filled with snake like thoughts ready to contrisct snd choke

and sink their venomous teethed dreams

of devoring flesh in the middle of the night

begs of mercy

screams pleads of sucide

fights with the commonaltiy of human thinking

fear to think out of the box

to address subconsciounous thoughts

to threaten the foundation of reality

questioning if what we are lving right now isn´t just a matrix

they play peek a-aboo with the sunshine and walk out of the darkness every once in awhile

and built such words of strength

of sunshine

the beauty of life

it springs rays of hope

in such hopeless situations

it creates a rainbow of black and white

suffocates you in her feelings

warms the cold sky

sometimes make a  day with sunshine seem dark

rainfall of tears

wet paper

soaked in emotion

a constant book

written in motion

never stopping

always dribbling nonsense

and addressing what is not addressed

my words of all

emody me

My words alter the perception of how I view the world

depending on how I angle my eyes

Tomes

My words raise the dead

My words find old, gruesome grudges

My words reveal old actors that still exist

My words tell their stories,

too epic, too reality-bending to die

My words see imperceivable colors

My words seek what's behind the waterfalls

My words,

Show my world,

My words,

Show my truths,

My words,

Show my lies,

My words,

Show my thoughts,
