The home of my youth is on Rudolph

The place where stray cats can't be shooed off

Poisoning failed

The felines prevailed

They licked every bit of the food off

I once lived on a street they call Highland,

With more cars and more smog than in Thailand.

The neighbors, they all moved

Their credit pre-approved

But I said screw that this is my land!

This challenge, it suits me quite nicely.

For I grew up with drunkards precisely.

The still, though long gone,

in hearts it's hung on.

Or should I say it hung o'er concisely.

(Maybe it's just me, but I always associate Limericks with drinking and carousing.  I guess it could also just be my upbringing, see above. :-)
