populism, sensationalism, rah rah, blah blah

this is a vote for roh, roh, fight the power,

inspiration to a disillusioned mass,

captivation of a people bogged down

by the capitulation to capitalism.

this is a run for the platform

not for the position,

but picked up and powered by

empowerment of the weary,

and easily swept along.

this is a vote for promises,

for free healthcare (at a cost)

and free college (with no plan)

and a presumed blow to

the super spooky establishment.

this is a voice for extremism,

a change in conversation

to pull the left leftward,

and to make the right

make light.

this is a vote for

shackling the space program

and gutting zombie frankenfoods

and fear of nuclear power,

and natural gas.

this is a clean campaign,

riddled with false endorsements,

statistics skewered with convenient omissions,

and passive-aggressive tweets at a someone or other

who may or may not be running.

this is support for ideals,

for the man who sticks to his guns,

and refuses to compromise his beliefs,

or just to compromise,

(sometimes consistency is just stubbornness).

this is a vote for a pipe dream,

for a voice that should be heard

and a dialogue that should be started

but ideas can only reach so far.
