Independence

Independence is vital to my existence. Independence is my ability to stand on my own two feet. Whether I am alone or with company, I can stand tall. Not depending on any others to hold me up, I can stand on my own. I can walk, run, leap. Finally, I can live for myself. I need no crutch, no guardian, nothing to fall back on, I have myself and I am strong enough. Strong enough to not only survive but to be truly alive. Independence is inner strength. But independence isn't always there. Sometimes we need someone to depend on, but even then if we do our best and try to pull through, we have that inner strength that makes us truly independent.

Independence

Independence means that I can break away.

I can love them as an equal, not someone higher than me.

I can help them when it's not my duty.

My acts of kindness will finally be recognized.

I can be the hero I've always dreamed of being.

Saving the day isn't expected of me (but I still do it anyways).

I can kiss their lips, not their cheeks.

I can be who I want to be.

I can sit outside for hours with whomever I want, staring up at the clouds.

I can eat ice cream every day from the fridge (even though I won't, it's bad for your health).

I can make my own decisions, yet I can still ask for help.

My decisions are weighted as heavily as theirs.

I can do what's right instead of what I'm supposed to do.

I can finally say that I'm free.

Bills comes, bills goes

Reading is fundamental

So learning the facts of life

Is more than important

For your own independence

Thinking for yourself

And no else, is what's best

At times morals can cause stress

Because people you cross paths

With don't have an independent

Respect for people who are

Independent because of their morals

Independence is following the

Correct politicians to make sure

There decisions doesn't effect your

Life

Independence is growth and

Learning how to stand on your own

With a job and able to help others

Money isn't independence but

Self accomplishments are in deed greater than doing nothing

Awareness. Perspective. Choice.

To understand what it means to me, you must understand how I believe it came to be. How -awareness- continues to cultivate -perspective- which directs the impulses of -choice- leading to independence.

"We braved the cave of a thousand sorrows,

and bought the thought of a million tomorrows."

Without awareness there's no way to even grasp the concept. Without perspective there's no way to define it-- body, mind or soul. Without choice, there is no independence. Whether it's a physical, spiritual or mental restraint, the very act of it negates the possibility of any independence, though they're not mutually exclusive.

While one may be without physical choice, their mind and spirit may hold varying degrees of Independence. Too, if the mind or spirit were neglected their respective choice, one may still have physical independence with which to act on.

Independence is a state of mind as much as it's a physical state of being, and a spiritual resolution-- to me.

Independence

Independence boost confidence. It's something that everyone seeks but in fact only some can have. Some seek independence to escape their harsh realities while others might seek independence to avoid it in general. To be independent is to be free willed, carefree, stress free and at peace. It's something that can change someone for either the better or the worst. It motivates and recreate people and their perception on things.

I believe that the only way to become independent is through hard work and dedication. People should always seek to be independent as it not only brings forth a feeling of success but also it brings forth a feeling of happiness and freedom.

Mindlessness.

It doesn't matter what independence means to me, or anyone really. The mindset that we need something to make us free or more able to do something is a scam.

The longing for independence feeds into our inhibitions, giving reason for our doubts. It's the need for independence, the strife to earn it, the illusion of gaining it, that holds us back.

Like a dog chasing a bone on a string above its head, we work hard and chase after this “independence” with the pathetic hope that receiving it will lead us to greater things, things we can do if we stop thinking about how we must achieve “independence” and instead focus on doing... Whatever it is we want to do.
