she breathed deeply

mediating in silent thought

wondering why the room

was suddenly getting hot

she rose to fetch some water

and when she returned

her feet alighted on the floorboards

and she began to burn

boiling in her toes

the heat began to rise

and as it reached her knobby knees

she cried out in surprise

the room began too shake and spin

all she wanted was a way out

but the air was growing thin

so she couldn’t scream or shout

not a single soul could save her

she was trapped inside herself

a whole crowd stood around her

but nobody cold help

She's dancing now

Twirling, laughing, enticing

To music unheard by anyone but herself

With her every breath

The air buzzes an addictive energy

You want her

You want to be her

To hold her is to die and be born again

She smiles

It aches

One day she'll leave

The world will be empty

Until then you watch her dance

All consuming,

Every fiber of my being buzzing like a thousand bees,

Our skin touches barely and the heat explodes like I'm standing next to a fireplace

Away from you my heart aches,

This effect,

Warm and fuzzy like the arms of a bear wrapping me up every time out eyes lock

Falling and safe all at once,

A confusing thing,

One day it's here and the next it's gone,

Waiting for another to come along.

A shiver, an impulse

Crawled down her spine

Like a spider. Eight legs entangled,

In her nerves. Nervous.

It dug its fangs, poisoned

Down to her blood.

Burrowed, implanted

Venomous thoughts.

They rode the heartbeats

To her mind, and stayed.
