December.

12:01 am. The campus library.

Homework assignments long untouched.

Staring into a stranger‘s soul. Existential debates. Long awaited yet fleeting companionship.

How do I turn this stranger into a friend?

december

crackling snowfall

restless footfall

interlocking frostbite fingertips

radiator hum

icy heartbeat thrum

yearning receding repeating

December

When December comes

and the snow appears

my only wish

is that you’d be near

family is a dying ember

pieces of ash

with one hot coal still burning.

we can light up again

when december ends.

Deep breath in

A dragon breath out

Hands freezing

Breath to keep the warm

Hot coco too hot

Panicked breathing

Opening presents

Gasp! What I wanted!

Hugs from family

Sigh

December, 2021

Old and cold and

The future untold.

MMXXI and final days:

I do not know why my spinal daze

Puts MMXXII on hold.

December

My breath in the air apparent

A cold chill on my neck

The majority of nature now barren

Drinking hot cocoa on my deck

DecEMBER.

Dear Ember,

what happened here?

theres no warmth

in ashes left.

These fragments of fire &pillow talks.

Ones winter offered spring,

like she didn’t notice.

Each time she wilted away.

december

december starts

in melancholy

six-pointed story telling

loses interest

only to harden over

again like snow

December

Fractilized halt

Verdant lush rests

under snowy hush

Brilliant buds dormant

rainbow of frozen secrets
