Who Cares

At three years old I baby sat

Mom and Dad went out that was that

She was twenty one Dad twenty three

There was a brother a sister and me

Sometimes we ate chicken noodle soup

Dessert was bread with sugar and butter

Glad my Mom did not have another

When I turned seven I was put in a home

Raised by Nuns I never felt so alone

All three of us in a different place

We were placed by age I had an ugly face

I had no hugs or kisses just another case

One day a week I saw my little sister

and once a week my brother came to visit

Once in a while Mom would take us out

But she had to bring us back by night

And my brother cried as Mom held on tight

I was there until I turned eleven

Let me tell it was not heaven

Well I am all grown up now

And sometimes I still cry in the dark

Things like this always leave a mark

So now again I am all alone

All my loved ones passed away

I have never been me since that day

So I think maybe even I passed away

Love's Sweet Surrender

As I lay down with you

all my feelings start anew

I drift far off to another place

And all your love do I embrace

You move your hand upon my skin

Oh how I love this place I'm in!

A gentle kiss upon my lips

I caresss your swaying hips

All my being filled with fire

As I give in to my desire

My mind in ecstasy

as love sets me free

Its sweet perfume drifts above

As we surrender all our love

I drift off to sleep in a caress

held in love and tenderness

Some Have No Class

His spoken words were so cruel

how could I been such a fool

When he started the affair

you knew it was there

But you looked the other way

thinking it would go away

She was young you much older

and his lust for her grew bolder

And when he treated you unkind

no guilt feelings on his mind

So he used the both of you

what fools were we two

then he grew tired of her ways

now back home he spends days

If you read this take some advice

love at times is not so nice

When they seek a piece of ass

some men simply havre no class

The Towers

I loved to look across the sea

while sitting on my balcony

Oh such beauty could I see

two majestic towers standing

now I cope with understanding

They stood tall in radiant density

A luminous light of great intensity

Now that space holds emptiness

Broken dreams loneliness

But freedom will ring out friend

and we will build again

In our hearts loved ones remain

Tell me cowards what did you gain

In My Dreams

I called out your name as I slept

it woke me up and then I wept

I remembered you are not here

just a dream a whisper in my ear

If you speak to me as I sleep

I will hear but will not weep

Do you come to me at night

or are you a dream taking flight

Sometimes I hear you call my name

your voice always sounding the same

So be it dreams or otherwise

you are here as I close my eyes

What Might Have Been

As I watch the fog roll in

I think about what may have been

As I watch the sea gulls fly

I think about days gone by

I lived my life in such haste

All it's beauty did not embrace

Never had the time to spare

To tell a loved one how I care

Years flew by to quickly

I had time for only me

I could have given much more

Now time has closed that door

So as I watch the tide roll in

I think about what might have been

Like Butterflies you flew away

I watch the kids walk down my street

bonded in friendship it was so sweet

Then I thought when I was young

wish I had known what was to come

We were best friends buddies too

now I wonder where are you

Sometimes I wish I could stay

smell the scent of youth's bouquet

Like butterflies you flew away

now a brand new life another day

The Treasures in our lives

Come sit with me by the fireside

unwrap this bow so neatly tied

Pictures and stories lasting forever

lives unfolding this is my treasure

Golden treasures of times gone by

like the flickering of a firefly

Little glimpses of life's echoes

all tied in ribbons and bows

Golden treasures I have saved

each one on my heart engraved

So come and sit next to me

share a treasured memory

The Soul Of A Poet

I think at times our souls must suffer

and our hearts become our buffer

We write of truth and of sadness

into our life we bring such madness

To make our poetry true and right

we must feel the pain we write

So we put sadness in our hearts

it is the way our poetry starts

We may stir up controversy

we are poets (Lord have mercy)

some may criticize what we do

So poets to your hearts be true
