Christmas

I never thought this is how I would spend my Christmas. With her.

artknows

Follow

I don’t “follow” people anymore.

artknows

Free form

Being free. Without restraint. Without self-consciousness. The mind is quiet, but no. It's now your best friend.

“Paper

Or plastic?" He says. How do I tell him "I just want you."

Challenge
Christmas list
What you want this Christmas?
artknows

Nothing

It might sound intentionally confusing, but this is what interests me. Christmas lasts for one day. What about the other 364? I'd rather we try and make those good before we focus on one.day.

Challenge
Perspective Shift
Take a commonly accepted idea, and approach it in a completely different way. Example: It’s not that unhealthy food is good. Unhealthy food is cheap and has a long shelf life, so food manufacturers are motivated to MAKE it good. Make us see something in an entirely new light. ^_^

Incels

It's not that incels are "bad". Incels are damaged, and we try and repair them by further damaging them.

Challenge
Colours
Write about a colour/colours in less than 100 words. What makes them beautiful, or what do they make beautiful? Be creative. Keep it clean, poetry or prose.

Color

Bring it to life. Give it depth. Give it meaning. Make it last. Leave me breathless.

Challenge
Thanksgiving Story
In any form-short story, poetry, lyrics, etc.-tell me a thanksgiving story.

Thanksgiving

Once a upon a time there was a group of people on a land. Then one day this other group came to that land. Would you guys like to have thanksgiving with us? What's that? We'll show you. Then they chopped their scalp off and ate it for Thanksgiving.

Challenge
$50 prize. What does it mean to be a good writer? Does good writing even matter, or have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok etc. turned us into mindless, unsophisticated zombies who no longer care for grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, or creativity?
$50 to the author of whichever post I find most insightful.
artknows in Nonfiction

Good writing

There is no good. Nor bad. Just what is. Shakespeare would likely find himself replying to comments on Instagram. Jane Austen reading her mentions on Twitter. The world didn't make great writing. Great writing made the world.

Huh. That’s weird that white couple didn’t call me a nigger. No ones calling me a nigger...they’re...smiling at me? They all seem so happy. I want some of that too. Sir! Excuse me. Where do you get your happiness from? Well my family of course. I just don’t know what I would do without them. A family....Yes! That’s exactly what I shall do. I shall start a family. Excuse me miss? Do you want to start a family? Get away from me creep. Ah I must re-strategize. Let me go ask someone else. Excuse me ma’am? Where does your happiness derive from? Well I’d have to say from my amazing boyfriend. Interesting...excuse me sir. Will you be my boyfriend? Man, get some help. Some help...interesting...excuse me miss will you help me get a boyfriend. Sure! Here, where’s your phone? Phone? A phone, like this one. Here, you would download this app called Tinder. Set your preferences to men, and then start swiping. I see...thank you miss! So I have to get a phone first...but I want happiness now! Let me ask someone else. Sir! Where does your happiness come from? No where. What do you mean? I don’t experience happiness. Wow. Then join me! I’m on a mission to find happiness. Ok. Let’s go ask this person. Excuse me miss, we can’t find happiness and were hoping you could help us find it. Happiness isn’t found. It’s felt. Feel within friends. Felt within eh...like near my pancreas. Stop searching friends. It’s already here. This lady is talking nonsense man. I’m out. Wait! Don’t leave yet. Let’s hear her out. What do you mean felt within. I mean stop searching. Stop looking outward. Literally stay here for five minutes and just feel. Activate your senses. Hear the hustle and bustle of cars and people moving. Smell the hot dog vendors just around the corner. See people with entire life stories pass you by. Look at the color of the sky. Look at the birds going by. Feel life friends. Feel life. Ok...feel life...but how? Stop thinking so much. Turn your mind off. But HOW? Friend. Breath with me. Feel the air flowing in. Feel your lungs feeling up. Now breath out. Feel the air flowing out. How do you feel now? Eh..about the same. Ok close your eyes. Trust me. Now just breath and get lost in the now. I’ll tell you when to open your eyes. Feel the air flowing in. Feel the air flowing out. Feel the air flowing in. Feel the air flowing out. Now just be...and enjoy being. Open your eyes. How do you feel? Wow. I think I felt something. You both enjoy your day. Hey man did you feel that. A little I guess. I really think she was on to something. Let’s see if other people have tried that. Excuse me sir! Yes? Have you ever tried breathing? Is this some kind of joke? No sir! Try it for yourself. Breath with us. Take a deep breath in. Take a deep breath out. Take a deep breath in. Take a deep breath out. Wow. That wasn’t bad. See! Join us friend! What do you mean. Well we were originally searching for happiness, but we think we found it. Uh...ok. Great! Excuse me ma’am. Have you ever tried breathing? Uh..sorry I have somewhere to be. I CHALLENGE YOU TO TAKE ONE DEEP BREATH RIGHT NOW! Wow. See?!? That was kind of amazing. Would you like to join us ma’am? What are you doing? We’re healing the Earth.
